No but I really have a 3 legged dog.
Yeah. Maybe Kevin the 3 legged Dog was one of them.

Never mind miss read the 3rd place standingsakm91 said:
Definitely changed the direction of the shot but still a great effort by Cowell. Second goal was really well worked off a turnover deep in Slovakia end.
US wins the group woth 2-0 victory over Slovakia. Hope they get the 3rd place team from Group A. Avoid Group D if at all possible
Fantastic luck!AustinScubaAg said:
Thanks to a Late Uruguay penalty. USA get the group A 3rd place New Zealand
1. It's Varas, not Vargas (not to correct, just to inform)PatAg said:
Do you consider Mikey Vargas for national team coach?
Too soon?

2. Yes it's too soon. He's less than 2 years removed as a fired MLS assistant coach. This is his first head coaching experience unless you count USSF DA youth programs. I'm not sure that's enough to make him the USMNT coach. We've really only seen him for 4 real games (U20 qualifying and these 3 group games in a youth WC)
3. He's very close with Luchi Gonzalez, who just left the NT program to return to MLS.
4. Oscar Pareja should be the USMNT coach. bottom line.
The road through the knockout stage begins today 👊

In the group stage they beat Iraq 4-0, lost to England 3-2, and beat Tunisia 1-0. They beat Gambia 1-0 yesterday, playing the entire second half 10v10. The goal was in the second half from 24 yards out during the run of play and should have been saved by a decent keeper, IMO. They had a couple other decent chances to score, but didn't, obviously.KCup17 said:
What's the scouting report on Uruguay? Our defense is legit but I'd say we have yet to play a really dynamic attacking team.
Uruguayans...historically...very, very poor losers...Quote:

Bradley hitting them with the "2-1" on repeat at the end, definitely done something similar to that back in the day.JJxvi said:Uruguayans...historically...very, very poor losers...Quote:

Awful field
I googled. Scaloni had a 20-year professional career as a player before moving into coaching. He played all over Europe also, including in the 2006 World Cup for Argentina. Those credentials are competitive with any NT coach in the world.PatAg said:Might google Lionel Scaloni's coaching resumejessexy said:1. Never said "absolutely hire Varas as national team head coach", but I also don't think its ridiculous to have him in a conversation.
I'd still rather hire someone that has already proven they can do it, and money should be no object. I'd be giving Varas the Olympics team for sure though.
