What was worse? That blind back pass with pace to his own keeper or Farfan's header on his own goal last night?

Noted global sensation *checks notes* Bongokuhle Hlongwane scores his Leagues Cup lead tying 7th goal in the first half for Minnesota vs Toluca.

I know nobody else knows who he is but he and Emmanuel Reynoso are two of the hottest MLS players of the last month.

Hoping we can hold on this last 45 min, MN gives up so much possession and then counters it eventually will bite them in the ass.

For the rest of his life he can say Messi assisted on a goal he scored. Brilliant

Pretty good title game here tonight, and of course Messi doing Messi things

Frustrating for Nashville because they've been the better side

This tournament has provided some of the absolute best club soccer games ever seen in North America.

I guess. The games have been exciting, but the quality of play is pretty bad.

I'm not a soccer snob and enjoy MLS/Liga MX for what it is

Amazing. Never seen it go to the 11th penalty taker.

I'm pulling numbers out of my ass right now. But I would wager the overall value of the MLS as a league, when it comes to exposure, advertisement, and future TV deals just increased by 100%+ with this outcome.

Inter Miami is going to get stronger and will bring in massive number of eyeballs to watch Messi and gang play. Both to see them play and win, or to see them lose. The LA Laker / New York Yankee / Real Madrid effect.

Really good for the league IMO.

Edit: microcosm example of above: I play fantasy football with a group of guys scattered over the country. None of them really have any real interest in Soccer. Last night there were multiple Messi gifs in our group chat.

I watch a lot of pretty bad soccer. MLS isn't that. It might not be a top five league in the world, but it's got some very good teams and players. (Not you Houston.)

Me too, and you are spot-on. MLS is a lot better defensively than so many other pro leagues around the world.

Cheap shots from Friso or the Austin Broccoli aside, Houston is playing exciting soccer at the moment. Hope they can keep it up and secure that playoff spot.

Hell nah - I lived in Houston for over a decade. Don't follow any of the other Texas teams. And yeah, Dynamo are playing better recently, which is why the winky face, but they're going to have to do a bit more to get me believing in them again.
