From the latest Aggie Soccer Club newsletter:
"The Bigger Picture on the Soccer Facility Front
As you know, the Twenty-Million-dollar plus project that had been approved by the Texas A&M Board of Regents (BOR) for upgrading the west campus Player Development and Weight Lifting facilities and to also build a new soccer headquarters which would have house our players' spaces, coaches' offices, athletic training room, storage, and recruiting spaces was cancelled by the BOR earlier this academic year. So, there is ZERO money coming from Texas A&M University or the Athletic Department to bring the soccer facility anywhere close to what you currently see at neighboring baseball, basketball, track, softball, swimming, or football facilities on our campus. So, Coach G must raise ALL the Money along with appreciated help and guidance from the 12th Man Foundation.
I realize we probably need to be creative in how we raise this money to benefit our female student-athletes. So, do you happen know of a corporation or benevolent philanthropist that might be looking to make a significant and positive impact on our program's success and the look of the soccer facilities the Texas A&M campus? The total price tag for the stadium VIP upgrades and a new team building is somewhere around $15 million. That sounds like a small amount when compared to what is quickly raised for a football, baseball, or basketball upgrade, but it would be absolutely life changing for Aggie Soccer. If you have ideas or someone or a group you know that might be willing to help, I sure would appreciate if you could get me an introduction."
