Well the top 4 seeding helped that. If we fell to 9 or lower it would have been an extra round and a top 8 opponent.

Kinda crazy that we finished that high given our EPL season. We aren't even top 10 in EPL.

Of noter, the top 8 has 5 EPL clubs and we did not have to play them in this comp - lol. That might have helped as you don't play your own domestic opponent in early rounds.

The dream of winning CL and getting relegated out of the EPL is still alive.

We would become the first ever Level 2 (Championship) team to be in the Champions League the same year.

I was talking about our pool draw. We got some of the worst teams in the field.

True. Our 8 opponents finished pool play 11, 17, 21, 23, 31, 33, 34, 35 out of 36

I was able to listen to parts of the game yesterday at work. Glad to get the win and secure a spot in the round of 16 and I was glad Kolo and Dom each scored. That is surely a confidence booster. Now we need to pick up our league form and move up the table.

Im in for this on 3 levels:

1. If we were to be relegated and potentially win the CL it would be the best/worst most intriguing sports story of maybe the entire history of the PL

2. Relegation could possibly wake everyone up in the front office that the front office needs a complete enema

3. It would be hilarious. I know we're all supporters, but I wouldn't stop laughing if Wrexham took our place in the PL.
