Brilliant sequence of play from Luna, Mcglynn and Downs, almost gets the 3rd.
Maybe should have but was a nice save

Roldan should have earned a PK there when he read that lazy pass

I think it probably is if not a friendly and if we're not dominating….not that it should matter

Dest freaking hammered that ball.

Pretty impressed with our attack tonight. Could easily have gotten 2 or 3 more with slightly different bounces

Always feels good after a win, but man we still came out looking so lackadaisical in the first 20 mins or so

Pretty critical win.
Wasn't perfect but for the first time in a while,e there was some attack and fire. Guess they heard the noise after SK.

I liked watching Downs tonight. Not great, but he's getting better and doing some good things. Loads of potential.

Hope he gets more minutes for Southampton.

Freese looked good. He was in the right spot each time and no mistakes with his feet. I wish he would actually catch the ball more. Dude parries everything.

Roldan - didn't see him for 20 minutes or so, but he played really well after that.

Freeman - holy carp he is fast. Keep an eye on him. He isn't ready yet, but I think he made himself some money last night. Needs work on the attacking end, but if we are counting on him to lead the attack, we got big problems.

Barfsten - keep with that super quick stepover and I make the B go away.

Mars Blackmon - still not ready. Seen enough for a while. Try again next year.

Tyler 'Backwards Pass' Adams - back to his old tricks. Dude was also missing for the first 30 minutes. He is pretty close to an absolute zero on the offensive end.

I don't think this was the Japanese A team. They were fairly undisciplined and their lines were sloppy. The midfield was pretty weak. Conspiracy theory here: USSF or whomever paid the Japan soccer folks to play the B team to get a win and end the negativity.

Good to get a win and you could see it on the guys faces in the post game.

I don't think we paid them to play, I think they simply rotated to get match time to their WC pool. South Korea did the same thing in their match last night. These other countries are also trying to figure out their WC squads and depth as well.

While I agree, my way is more fun.

It would be nice to see the full A team on the field. I know some were not here but these mash-up line-ups don't help much.

This is where I'm at, too. Stop bringing in JAGs that aren't going to be close to sniffing the WC roster. Need to start building chemistry with the players who will be on the squad. Full team, not 6 or 7 at a time.
People think I'm an idiot or something, because all I do is cut lawns for a living.

We'll see how it looks next time, but when this roster came out Poch said this is the last window for experimenting, so hopefully it will be as A team as possible from here on out.

I think these following players are in despite not being involved in any recent camps:
Jedi
Pepi
Tilmann
McKennie(?)

Which of the following players does Poch consider as experimental players :
Cardoso
Tessman
McKenzie
CCV
Trusty
Gio
Musah

I don't think Scally will sniff a camp while Poch is the HC.

I agree with that, although if McKennie doesn't get minutes he's likely to drop. I think you can't bring him if he's not match fit enough to start… seems like that'd be asking for discipline issues.

Similarly, I think Gio and Scally are a package deal. You gotta take both, or neither. You take one without the other, then the one that goes is gonna be a team cancer. And I agree, it's looking more and more like it might be a neither.

But who knows. Maybe any/all of the above are more mature now and I'm dead wrong. But it seems like Poch is willing to sacrifice talent for attitude. On one hand, I admire it. On the other hand, if there's a big gap between a player and other options, sometimes you gotta just hold your nose and take em.

I think IF gio can get regular club time and round into form, there is no world you leave him out.
Especially since that would mean he has corrected his main flaw, which is all mental for him.
