When I saw the 2nd goal live it looked like Fuller just misjudged the height of the ball and thought it was going over the bar, but after looking at the replay it looks like it took a deflection off our defender.
I feel for Fuller. She played her heart out and had 4 other saves. She's going to be constantly under duress from here on out. With a nonexistent midfield who can't contain possession and a back line that is gonna have trouble keeping up with sec forwards and their physicality, it's gonna be a busy next 9 games for Fuller. She's extremely talented but her teammates won't offer much help.

I feel for her as well. She has definitely kept us in matches with some big time saves over the last 2 years but you can only ask so much of any keeper when they're constantly facing attack. I do believe she has a pretty high ceiling as far as how talented she can really become. I really like how much of a vocal leader she is. She's constantly communicating with her team and trying to organize her defense. She's not afraid to tell people what to do which is a skill not every keeper has.

Yeah I saw her being extremely vocal after that first goal. 3 goals against is difficult but you could really see her frustration. I wish she had more help in front of her but I don't think she gets it with this team.

So if the team in front of the goalkeeper is responsible for letting goals in, why do we need a goalkeeper in the first place?

To clean up for the atrocious play in front of her… do you watch Aggie Soccer?

Obviously, I've watched. So, at some point you gotta just give props to an athletic opponent for blowing past and scoring. Hate to point it out, but our keeper unfortunately was late on the reactions. But again, hats off to Georgia. They outplayed us. Better strategy by McAlpine and his dawgs. Hats off to the better team

Def the best summary for this game. Pretty spot on in past posts as well. TCU is def not like Georgia.

Folliard is a USYNT keeper. Solid. And big. Pretty impressive for a 17 yo

I saw her play North Carolina and was blown away. Finding out her age, you couldn't tell by the way she commands a defense and plays fearlessly.

And that was Georgia's backup goalie. Their starting goalie Jordan Brown who was a preseason all conference pick and on several pre season all American watchlists is out for the season. Their goalie tonight reclassified and is only 17 years old.

She's going to miss playing us with all our shots off goal.

Wait, I'm being to hard, we did have at least one hit the crossbar.

it deflected and she had no chance - my point is that they have an actual arrack

they were able to work it with patience to get the split they needed

the Georgia coach is coaching college while G is coaching U12

So…Inexplicably, Ross Bjork gave Coach G a contract extension a few years ago. Does it end after this season, or does there have to be yet another disappointing season next year? There's no way that Trev is going to terminate anyone early.

Coach G deserves respect for years of service and some success, but like with Jo Evans (softball), it's been clear for a while that soccer will need a change to see any success going forward.

I think Fuller is really good, but I can't recall an impressive save from her in the game last night (after a few impressive ones at tcu). She is credited with 4 saves last night, but I can't remember one that took anything other than an average effort for a sec level goalie.

One goal against was deflected off a midfielder helping on defense. Wasn't bad defense and also nothing fuller could do about it. Looked to me like we slightly adjusted our midfield defense at halftime, which allowed the Georgia player to receive the ball deeper, but I suppose it is the price you pay when you are down 1-0 and need to score.

One goal was a nice run and finish on a cross...give Georgia credit for creating and finishing that one for sure. They beat our defense, but it was well executed and would beat most defenses.

The first goal was really the unacceptable one. Wide open header on a corner...is that defenders fault or the goalie for not having it covered? Not sure, but probably a little of both. It also caused us to play from behind and opened up the second goal for them.

We had several good opportunities to score last night. Storer made a nice move to get an open shot inside the box, but put it off the crossbar. A nice combination of passes to give Diaz a shot from 5 yards out that went wide. A beauty of a cross in front that the Georgia goalie somehow held onto (first class for sure by their goalie). Noble looked dangerous several times, exposing their center back as average, but no shots on goal. Cate didn't get enough minutes if you ask me as her shot has a lot of movement on it and is dangerous from 20 yards out. Jernigan has looked amazing at times, but not often enough this season. Felt like Landherr should've earned some more minutes based on how well she played at tcu.

We were at the game and it didn't feel like 3-0. At one point, the scoreboard showed a 3-0 score, but it also showed 13 shots for compared to 15 against. In the 2nd half when we had several chances. Unfortunately, we only put 2 shots on goal for the entire game and didn't finish any of them. Not meaning to sound like G last year, but we have to find ways to finish and not sure who on the roster is going to take the lead on that against sec defenses.

it was 100% on the defense and it was a set play

she started at the D and walked in untouched for a back post header

just piss poor coaching once again

The contract not expiring till March worries me aside from the fact that it seems like Trev Alberts could care less about the smaller sports losing. But us getting the last conference game on sec network vs an average Kentucky team makes me think that they'll want to televise his last game. So who knows.

The score didn't feel like 3-0? It felt like 10-0 on television even with our slanted announcers lol. And by the way the small crowd left the game early, I don't think they were as happy watching as you bud lol

1st goal - uncovered by D. Late reaction by keep.
2nd goal - barely deflected off lower leg of Noble. Keeper too high off her line to make the any proper reaction save
3rd goal - challenged hard by our defense. Attack too quick and skilled in the finish. Our Keeper not in open position to stop the ball and didn't react fast enough

lol. Why you so angry, bro? Pretty sure most announcers are slanted towards the school that employs them. If you watched the game, you had to see that we had several good chances. Saying it felt like 10-0 when they didn't even have 10 shots on goal seems a little slanted too. Keep hating bud.

I get both perspectives. It felt deflating and quasi-encouraging all at the same time midway through the second half when, after Diaz shot wide (!) from the center of the goal mouth from 3 yards (!) and Storer hit the bar in a one-v-one from 13-14 yards, it should have been 2-3, not 0-3. Encouraging because the chances were created. Deflating because it's become the expectation that A&M teams won't finish those.

That's been the story for years now--the consistent refrain of "we've got to finish our chances." Finishing just hasn't been happening for the last several years. I think Maile Hayes was our last forward who could finish with relative consistency.

One thing I remember from the Okie St coach (Carmichel?) back when they were good: He said they literally never practiced shooting with a still ball. They only practiced shooting with a ball in motion. It showed in the way they finished. I don't know what our team does in practice.

I think this stat posted by Chris Henderson on X (twitter) indicates we actually had better chances than Georgia, but they finished their shots and we did not. True goal scorers make all the difference. Can't recall ever seeing a stat that showed a team who lost by 3 goals had a higher xG...

NCAA - Texas A&M vs Georgia
xG (Post-Shot xG)
1.90 (0.12) - Texas A&M
1.71 (2.01) - Georgia

xG Leader - 0.86 - Leah Diaz (A&M)
xA Leader - 0.70 - Holly Storer (A&M)

you get maybe 1 or 2 free kicks a game and only 1 player takes them (not me)

this is RC level bad coaching- when Leach had his WR's catching Tennis balls out of the juggs machine, RC freaked out and said we play with footballs why would we catch tennis balls

i don't believe RC said that at all. You exaggerating.

My guess is RC said why would we ever pass the ball when you can run it every time.

R.C. Slocum regarding Mike Leach's unconventional training methods at Texas Tech appears in a November 17, 2000, feature article in the Eagle titled "Leach's Air Raid Offense Takes Flight at Tech." The article, written by local sports columnist Dave South, discusses the emerging Big 12 rivalry and Leach's innovative approach to wide receiver development shortly after his arrival in Lubbock in December 1999.
The full quote from Slocum, in the context of critiquing Leach's emphasis on hand-eye drills for receivers (including catching tennis balls to simulate quick passes), is: "Catching tennis balls doesn't help a wide receiver catch a football. You don't win games with gimmicks like thatyou win with fundamentals and blocking up front."

In the big scheme of things, RC really wasn't wrong. As much as Leach is revered, especially on TexAgs, he never really won anywhere. He had two seasons (out of 22) where he won 10 or more than games. RC did this five out of 14 seasons. The teams who won national championships (and were contenders) during the last 20 years had really good Defensive and Offensive Lines.

MIke Leach revolutionized football and his schemes are used in the NFL today - RC slocum was rightfully fired fand never coached again
