Just thought I'd start a topic for news and discussion about this season in high school soccer.


And… totally selfishly ask if anyone has a pdf copy of the NFHS laws of the game they'd be willing to send me.

I don't think a .pdf exists but I'll ask around.
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

NFHS has an app (if you can get it to work, it's pretty hit and miss) and you can download the current rule book for any sport directly from them. They charge like $10 I think.

The easiest way to get an NFHS rule book is to join TASO and sign up to ref with us!

This is going to be my first year not coaching high school soccer since 2017. Definitely going to miss freezing my toes off in those brutal January/February night games.

Hoping to get into GK training once football season is over so I can at least be around the sport.

This is my second year not reffing HS since 2002. The previous year was 2018 when I took a break after 3 straight years of being selected to UIL State Championships. I think I'm done with it. I just don't like it anymore. We'll see how this Winter goes....

No high school soccer for me this year. The wife coached HS soccer from 98-2008 with State Semi and State Final appearances in back to back years and the girls played the last three years with a state title. I've spent many a night bundled up and will be happy to keep the long jacket in the closet this year. Good luck to all of you braving the weather this year.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm a coach in Florida. I have asked my AD, but no answer yet.

I think my officiating days are behind me. I did notice my fitness level was **** yesterday, so maybe I should get back into it on weekends or something.

I'm in the Corpus area.

I played GK in high school. I've coached high school soccer since 2017, mainly working with GKs. I was a head boys coach from 2022-2024. This past year I was the 4A Region 4 Assistant Coach of the Year and our GK was All-Region.

I'm not an expert by any stretch but GK is my specialty. I took a coaching job in Corpus because it was a football promotion and ultimately that's my career goal, unfortunately they don't have soccer.

Mines a junior this year. I expect a repeat of the last two seasons. Undefeated district, then blow through first couple rounds of playoffs until we meet a team stacked with club players. Should be a fun ride though.

I know this isn't Texas news, but my daughter just completed her Senior HS season. Lost in the TN State semi-finals today 2-1 in OT.

Same. her team is loaded with seniors. might do some damage in 4A playoffs though

My daughter is a senior this year. We're going to be good and hopefully we stop catching state finalist in the second round cause we're good.
