We had our first tournament of the year this weekend with the College Station ISD tourney.
Two clean sheet victories:
2-0 v. College Station
5-0 v. Eagle Mountain
And then one loss:
1-2 v. Seven Lakes
Most proud of the loss, as Seven Lakes is 6A and coming off back to back trips to the state final four. We actually dominated large parts of the possession and created a ton of opportunities. It was a very even game that came down to an odd goal.
Afterwards I happen to be leaving the bathroom as the refs were going to their locker room and I told them good game and thanked them for doing it. One of the refs, in a thick accent said, "I tell both coaches after the game, both these teams be in final four this year... I GURANTEE IT!" lol. We'll see but he was very complimentary and I think we actually have a really balanced team this year. In the past we've had 4-5 serious club girls and then gaps and that just doesn't work. Things would fall apart trying to connect through some of the non-club girls. This year we actually have balance and great team chemistry. Should be a fun year!
