Did anyone watch that play? Seemed like a tough call. The MSU defender's foot rolled over the top of the ball (so she got ball first) and then her foot went studs first into the LSU player's shin. Red card and a PK (which was converted) on the play.

100% a red card and penalty. I'm not sure how he missed it either. He's in a good position to see that and this is the type of referee to call a penalty more often than not.

Should he wait for a broken leg to give the red card? No, he shouldn't. Just cuz she got lucky to not break the leg doesn't mean you downgrade it to yellow.

In other conference news, UTSA is down 3-1 to Memphis with 5 minutes to go and they score 2 late goals to tie and then they win it in penalties!!! Memphis is ranked 3rd and a bubble teams dreams have just been bursted!

HCU went from 8th place going into the last week of the season to now playing in the Southland championship game with a chance to go to the NCAA tourney. Incredible!

She made her penalty kick, not sure if it was the 7th or 8th for Vandy

To be fair she basically kicked it down the middle. Goal keeper leaned away. Not much of a kick.

Please, You really think she aimed at that spot after her reaction? Not trying to be over critical of the shot, but I don't believe that was intentional to go up the middle.

Well her reaction 1 minute after was tears of joy and being covered in confetti so why are we arguing about a PK attempt. She also woke up a one seed in the NCAA tournament so congrats Margo and to Adysen Armenta! Go get em in the tourney!

I agree. I think it was an awful shot, but she played the full game (again) for her team, has been a great addition to that team and is now an SEC champ. Congrats to her! Armenta playing zero minutes after only 5 minutes in the semifinal is a headscratcher, but hard to question the coach given the results. They don't seem to have as many offensive weapons as some of the other top seeds, but have been solid all year except for that slip up against Texas in September.
