Bracket and Schedule: https://www.ncaa.com/news/soccer-women/article/2025-11-06/2025-ncaa-di-womens-soccer-tournament-selection-show-info-bracket-schedule

First round begins Friday and Saturday. Should be a fun tournament. 1 seeds are Stanford, Notre Dame, Virginia, and Vanderbilt. I'm excited that UTSA and Houston Christian won their conference tournaments. I'm also glad that next year we should be back in the tourney under a new coach! There's also a chance our coach is in this tourney right now!

9 SEC teams made it
1. Vanderbilt
3. Tennessee
4. LSU
5. Arkansas
6. Mississippi State
8. Georgia
8. Alabama
South Carolina
Kentucky

6 Texas schools made it
2. TCU
5. Baylor
6. Texas Tech
UTSA
Texas State
Houston Christian

Good grief 9 SEC teams and 6 teams from Texas make the soccer tournament? Did the committee have a hard time finding enough teams to fill out the bracket? Fighting it out with tu to be the 7th best soccer program in Texas is testimony to how far the program has fallen.

8th because SMU finished with a higher RPI than us and we were one spot higher than Rice lol. Thankfully change is near! It's time to consistently be in the tournament. No excuses.

By all accounts this was actually a down year in the SEC. Only 7 teams getting a seed and only 3 top 4 seeds. Even with incompetent coaching and leadership if we had held on to most of our roster we'd easily be towards the top of the SEC. Everyone who left but two are in the tournament now and Calzada, Matula, and Armenta are on 1 seeds! With the 4 Aggies on TCU's squad a 2 seed. I'll be rooting for them! But I'll also be rooting for UTSA!

Even though G said it with a negative tone, G was right. All the transfers found "greener pastures"!

Yea, me too.

I thought Georgia was seeded low too and got a crappy draw until I started looking at the other 7- and 8-seeds in the tourney. I wouldn't know where to put them. Can't swap them with Clemson cuz then you'd have Georgia v Vandy (SEC v SEC) and Clemson v ND (ACC v ACC) in the 2nd round.

I thought UNC was the main school that got screwed. They've got a better overall and conference record than Clemson, but somehow aren't seeded over them. Now they have to travel to Knoxville and Lubbock instead of hosting & Nashville. Can't figure that one out.

I also see that the WAC got 2 bids. I think Utah Valley can beat Colorado and I think Cal Baptist will cause Kansas some problems in the 1st round

There were three upsets in the first round. Or, in other words, three seeded teams lost.

(3) Tennessee vs UNC
(6) Mississippi St vs Lipscomb
(8) Georgia vs Ohio State

Interesting that all three were SEC teams.

Georgia was probably the last seeded team and Ohio State the first non-seeded team.
UNC was missing several U17 players for much of ACC play.
Lipscomb - Not sure what to say about that one.

UNC having a RPI of 25 (and their "pedigree") not being one of the 32 seeded teams is kind of a mystery. Why not make them do it the hard way this year., I guess.

Georgia vs Ohio St. was a toss up. Ohio St. with a RPI of 38. Georgia was somehow seeded with a RPI of 43.

Lipscomb vs Miss St. - no comment.

Absolutely not her fault, but ball past the goalie lands at the feet of Ohio State player and kicks it right past Calzada as goalie is nowhere near to make a play
