Watching this championship game. I have never seen a coach kick a ball away to prevent the opposing team from throwing it in.

I've given cards to coaches multiple times for this. It happens more often than you think and the coaches act dumb when they get a card for it.
It happened in an NWSL game a few seasons ago and the head coach was given a red card for it since she made contact with the opposing player while knocking the ball out of her hands. It's just dumb

It might be at a low right now, but the reality is it only takes one offseason with NIL to make us a contender if someone were willing to spend big in a sport most don't care about.

nice stadium but no fans and 20 degrees not ideal for a championship
Really cold weather but decent number of fans since an ECNL event was going on at the same time. It wasn't Santa Clara when in 2021 when they played a home game but it was better attended than WakeMed when UNC was in the finals.

KC is a nice facility and venue but it's just too cold in December. Need to host in Florida somewhere.
It's like having the January/February ECNL events in Texas. You could miss a really nice weekend by 24 hours on either side and be miserable. I'm not sure North Carolina or San Jose would have been much better this year. Outside of southern California and South Florida, it's rolling the dice anywhere else this time of the year. The nice part was that it was at a professional stadium and the kids felt special and played in a more professional environment than WakeMed or Santa Clara. I know NC Courage play in WakeMed, but it is not in the category of a professional stadium. But, yes the ECNL events need to be held in the same place as the College Cup. It will help attendance of both events (college coaches and fans alike).
