Heard we have like 14 active players. Hence the cancellations. We've looked really good, so i'm not too worried.

Coaches cut 10 or so players during the individual meetings this week, including some players that others said looked really good in spring games. We will of course be very active in the portal as we must have at least 7 roster spots open for the fall at this point.

A few more than I expected, which probably means he has some transfers already lined up.
College athletics needs a complete overhaul. It's utterly shameful that coaches can drop kids at this point in the semester yet that's become the new normal. Kids who were struggling to get a C end up getting an F when they get this news. Kids who were enjoying their education now have added stress as they end their semester and moving forward they have to make the hard choice to either stay and pay or try to find a new place to get a scholarship and keep playing.
We need to **** or get off the pot: either actually give a damn about education and make/enforce rules that prioritize that - or admit that the notion of student-athlete is dead and not require anything from them academically.
But regardless of that - there simply has to be a system for making both kids and schools commit via multi-year contracts. What we have now is sheer madness.

I don't think I've ever heard of mass cuts like this before. But with roster limits and full scholarships for all 28 players things have changed.
Woah, bold move but I'll give some grace to a first year coach! Let's see if it was the right move! You have to have some talent lined up to do something like this
I think when there is a coaching change at a program that wasn't performing at a high-level, this is likely going to happen to some extent. 10 cuts on a roster of 25 seems like a lot, but the program was already 3 over the roster limit for the fall with the players signed to start in a few months. I was expecting him to cut 5 or maybe 6, which would have given him the ability to bring in 2-3 offensive weapons through the spring portal players. Now he has the ability to bring in 7 if he wants. The spring portal is typically weaker than the winter portal, but maybe he feels confident in what he can get. Ultimately, he cut those he didn't feel fit what he was trying to do and those players will be happier elsewhere if they weren't going to play much here anyway. Still surprised by a few as some of them performed pretty well in the spring games. I understand the cuts were across the board, and include girls who started out of hs at A&M, transfers, seniors, juniors and sophomores. I hope all of them find a great new homes. Also, kudos to him for stepping up to cut the 2027 commit now if he didn't think she was the right fit as she still has time to find something else.

Lavender was a freshman last year, but was no longer on the roster after the new coaching staff started in January.
Lacher is a 2026, but started early in January. She played well in spring games, but Churchill is probably considered to have the best spring of the new freshmen (3 goals, 3 assists).

Don't think they are making changes at this moment to the website, because it lists the 2026 Spring Roster and those listed played or were on the team roster for the spring. If they are consistent with what they did before, the changes will be made when they start listing the 2026 fall roster
Mookie - Misread your post. As of now, I think three girls have stated they are entering the portal on social media, but not sure if anyone else has gone public.
I don't know the list of names, but was told that there were 15 girls in the room for the final team meeting after cuts last week. Four of the girls in the meeting were the early start freshmen, so there are 11 players from the 2025 fall roster still around. Assuming none of those 11 decide to enter the portal on their own, approximately two-thirds of the fall roster will be freshmen or new transfers (if he decides to carry a full roster of 28).
Bobby had to make cuts as this isn't a very good roster for SEC competition. That's just a fact and nothing personal with any of the girls leaving. We need major upgrades and it's pretty obvious he's already got a few lined up in the portal. I expect our recruiting and portal will take a jump with him because from all early indications and observing some x and o changes, he seems to have a system that already looks light years of where it was under G. I'm cautiously optimistic about an overachievement this Fall.

Well, the roster with the 15 remaining players has now been posted. I was wrong on a couple. Noble and James are gone. Storer and Scranton remain.

Actually, I hope the coaches are out there in the portal trying to find goal scorers and more speed for our midfield.
With Hoang and Storer apparently now converted to defenders, plus the 3 new defenders already signed-up to start in the summer and Landherr/Scranton set to return from injury, we have 9 or 10 defenders on a roster of 21 (15 + 6 joining in the summer).
Style of play is going to help us score more than last season, but it won't make it for the lack of true goal scorers on this roster, especially against stronger opponents. Churchill will help, but:
- We only scored 10 goals in 16 games last year if you exclude the Lafayette game
- We only scored 4 goals in 10 SEC games
- We were shut out in 7 of 10 SEC games
- We have exactly 1 player left on the roster who scored more than 2 goals last year (excluding Lafayette)
- That same 1 player is the only player left who scored any goals in SEC games last year
- 12 goals scored in the spring was nice, but 3 were scored by a player (Cate) who is no longer on the roster and 2 were by our CB (Crooks) on set pieces. The remaining goals were scored by 3 players: Churchill, Buchanan and Diaz.
Just as point of fact, none of these girls can transfer to an SEC school. Thought that was interesting.
Transfers from Arizona St. and San Diego St. are the first incoming.
