Too bad Presti isn't GM of the Clippers.
But Dunleavy is, and he's a moron
I don't think they would trade Gordon, DJ, and Thorton in a trade, especially if they couldn't get rid of both Baron and Kaman in that trade
I think if you took on the Kaman contract you could easily have your pick of one of those 3 players. I think that would be worth it for the spurs. Kaman can play center taking alot of pressure off of Duncan and Thorton or Gordon would be a perfect #3 option.
Searching the options, I think that was the best trade for the Spurs that had a possibility of happening.
Donald Sterling is the biggest penny pincher in the NBA and I know there is going to be a mandate this offseason to cut payroll there.
So say it's:
Kaman/Thorton for Oberto/Thomas/Bowen
All of the sudden you look like this
C-Kaman/Mahinmi
PF-Duncan/Bonner
SF-Thorton/Mason
SG-Manu/Mason
PG-Parker/Hill
Now, and this is big, you have that $3-4 million to throw at a Rasheed and make your team very dangerous. You use your 2nd rounder on a young swingman, maybe sign a Gerald Green or someone to a minimum and see if they can come in and compete. When Bowen is cut by the Clips you sign him to a minimum contract and bring him back in for one last year. And if Splitter can get out of his contract, that's just icing on the cake.
