I'd still say the Spurs are a longshot to win it all, but they are on a 14-5 run with wins over Cleveland, Orlando, OKC, Boston, and Phoenix. It's late season and you should never count the Duncan Spurs out.

Spurs def looking good lately. Manu and Tim tore up the Magic. Anytime Manu gets this much PT and control, he is all NBA. Tony going down has actually been great for Manu, hill, and Jefferson.

All I've got to say is, don't let SA slip up and beat the lakers tomorrow night. Already took out Boston @ TD Banknorth.

With the win over Orlando, the Spurs have put the league on notice.

I think at this point it's safe to say the Spurs can hang with anyone in the league.

I'm a lot more optimistic about the playoffs after these last few weeks.

Good God you're such a tool. In the last few weeks, the Spurs have gone 15-5. They've beaten the Magic, the Celtics on the road, the Cavs, lost in OT to the hawks, played competitively against the Lakers at home (despite Duncan having one of the worst shooting outings of his career), and this afternoon, just delivered the Lakers their worst home loss of the season. And you're here saying it's inconceivable that they can play any team in the league competitively?

Stop deriding a team that just pounded yours and take the loss like a man

Not sure how they're doing it but the Spurs are looking damned good right now. Meanwhile my Mavs continue to suck and push for a likely first round exit.

If the playoffs started today with the Mavs playing like they are I think the Blazers, Spurs, and Thunder would all beat them. The only team they can beat is the Suns at the moment, I think.

That's a .750 win%, and 6-4 against current playoff teams including beating the favorite on their home court. Throw in that they are 1-1 against Orlando (who will probably win the East), with the loss in OT on the road and you have a team that is playing some good basketball right now.
