Spend some time looking at the NFL combine. There are a lot more 40"+ verticals there (
all no step. I think there was a 250lb TE this year that was over 42".... NO STEP.
I bet some of these guys are over 45" max verticals. 42" Max vertical (not tested) would not be that elite in football.
