The Spurs cannot win game 6 if they are not strong on the basketball. If SA suffers a rash of turnovers and/or gets thrashed on the glass, they will lose game 6 (and game 7).

Keeping the turnovers down will result not only in more shots for SA but even more importantly will eliminate easy transition opportunities for Dallas.

Completely agree. The Mavs really thrived on getting turnover and then pushing the tempo in Game 5. If that happens again, the Spurs might be in trouble. Though I also expect SA to rebound much better tonight than they did on Tuesday.

I think it depends on the start. The team that has come out hot and taken the first quarter has won every game correct? The Mavs need a great start to quiet the crowd. If the Mavs come out cold and passive, it's over.

Unless some team makes a ton of blunders, turnovers don't interest me.

Mavs just have to run. It's easy to get a bucket with a turnover, but that's not the key. Mavs have to push the ball up the court after every Spur miss. You have to make them hustle back, especially the bigs. If you get a easy bucket, shoot it. Otherwise you run the offense.

Mavs just forget about secondary break too many times. Spurs wanna play in quicksand. Why play their game? Run and you win.

Running is definitely not the key against SA. Attacking the basket and not settling for jumpers. The Spurs have players that can run.

Teams that try to run on SA never beat SA. 06 Mavs beat the Spurs by driving. 09 Mavs beat the Spurs because they sucked. The running teams (03 Mavs, every Phoenix team ever) always got their asses handed to them.

If you attack the basket, (06 Mavs, 08 Lakers, 04 Lakers, 01/02 Lakers) you can beat the Spurs. Try to run, and the Spurs will win.

Puddy, how did i say the opposite? i've said i think the mavs will win game 6, and i dont see them losing game 7 back in american airlines.

that being said, it's VERY hard to pick against the veteran spurs. few reasons i am doing so:

1. dallas has played well against the spurs the past few years
2. the spurs roster is all over the place. can people keep stepping up (different people than the big 3)
3. duncan's health (looked so bad the past 2 games like he shouldnt be on the floor
4. ginobili's nose. despite him being a trooper, he hasnt played well since the injury

despite that....the mavs have changed their lineup 40% of their crunch time lineup at the end of the season. they are all over the place. and unfortunately for the mavs, caron butler is as useless as jefferson.

soo, basically, i give the edge to the mavs for momentum. but i expect a very close game. and a hard fought game.

NBA: Where going on the road after losing 3 of your last 4 games is good for your momentum.
