I don't see how any spurs fan can say that they aren't at least a little nervous. If the Mavs come out focused to start the second half, this thing could be within single digits in no time.

Personally, I think gutless ******* that mail in a game by intentionally fouling to get put on the bench in an elimination game because things aren't falling their way is ruining the NBA.

The big problem with officiating in the NBA is that it is entirely institutional now. You can't change it without dumping every single ref you have save a handful and starting completely over.

Refs get intimidated, starstruck, and just let their personal biases infect how they call games.

You don't see that stuff in the NFL, and why is that? What does the NFL do that the NBA doesn't?

I don't think it is over by any means. The Spurs need to come out strong. If they come out flat, it only takes a couple of hot shots by the Mavs to be right back in this. Spurs were down by 20 when Kerr came in and killed them a few years back.

Dirk's fouls were legit. Carlisle was damned either way. He almost had to leave him in there to stop the bleeding. Not a smart foul by Dirk, but it was certainly enhanced.

Mavs are toast. The only have one chance. Dirk starts the 3rd quarter like man possessed, hitting 7 of 10 shots. And JET drains about 5 3 pointers in a row. Wouldn't hurt if Spurs got cold either.

I also wouldn't be surprised to see Damp or Najera put somebody in body bag tonight. It has that feel.
