agree. It just depends on the team. The rockets as presently constructed would be better with Dwight. The rockets with Jeff Van Gundy as the coach would probably be better with Yao.
It seems almost impossible to say. I saw Yao play hundreds of times and have probably see Dwight Howard play 10 times.
Yao was awesome and took everything so well, but you didn't see the killer instinct a lot. He reminded me of Rik Smits. It was amazing what he could do at his size, but baffling that he struggled to average 10 rebounds or two blocked shots a game.
I'm already concerned about Howard's FT shooting and he hasn't even played a preseason game yet. The guy shot 67% his rookie year and 49% last year. How can that be?
I'd take Howard because I'm a firm believer in rebounding and blocking shots over scoring points from the man in the middle. He's there to deter the Russell Westbrooks and Tony Parkers of the world. If he can average 15-17 points per night, but lead the league in rebounds and blocks, I'll be happy.
