TNT and Obama

I think the complainers on this board have a legitimate argument. Sports are usually a distraction to the regular annoyances in life. When O keeps on making his appearances it's like an intrusion...that's why it's annoying. That, and it just feels like he's still campaigning. The guy won't even hold press conferences and yet he's constantly making appearances on TV sporting events.

Blind, irrational hate.

It's not blind irrational hate. I have a litany of reasons why I don't like Obama, for your to trivialize anything negative about the President is the only thing here that's blind and irrational.

You are stupid. You have the most worthless opinion on this board. Simplebay is a better poster then you, and is probably less of a homer.

99% of the complaints about Obama/hoops are from Republicans.

99% of Democrats think it's great that Obama likes hoops.

Cut and paste. Repeat for the next 2,000 discussions about Obama.

Okay, so it's rational for you to hate on the president because he's on TV talking basketball? It's not like he's on there asking for votes. If you gripe about that then you should hate every president for throwing the out the first pitch or hosting championship teams at the White House. YOU are making it political, not TNT or the POTUS. YOU are blindly hating because of your political views. And that is irrational.

The president is allowed to be an American. YOU are allowed to disagree with his policies while still supporting him as an american.

Feel free to continue regurgitating this same thing over and over, it's not going to make it true.

If you keep trying to hide from an argument over and over again without giving a reason, it doesn't make it untrue.

There are plenty of reasons for you to have political issues with Obama, but him spending a few minutes on TNT discussing basketball isn't one of them. The blind, non-civil hate towards Obama makes makes all conservatives look dumb and hurts the legit arguments against Obama's policies.

The reason it is so annoying is because I don't believe for a second he is this great sports fan he and the media make him out to be.

Perception is 99% of politics. All politicians do it, almost always have, probably always will. Add this to the list of things that people are "suddenly" angry about now that a liberal democrat is in office. I didn't hear anyone complaining when we were constantly subjected to the "George Bush is a big Texas rancher/cattleman" horse****.

quote:
After that embarrassing incident where he couldn't name a singe White Six player on his supposed favorite team it is clear this is fraudulent.

Embarrasing, perhaps. But not nearly as embarrasing as Sarah Palin not being able to name one of the "numerous" periodicals that she reads.

Once you frame this whole thing in the context that "all politicians are more or less frauds" (and if you don't believe this, then I've got some land I'd like to sell you), then it makes one curious as to why the same guy (Obama) keeps getting called out for the petty horse**** that ALL OF THEM do.

Personally, I would have a problem with Obama if his NCAA bracket didn't suck. I'd have a problem with him if he knew much at all about the NBA, or football, etc. Seems to me the president ought to have more pressing things to do than spend time researching his bracket or getting up to speed on the team to beat in the NBA playoffs. That said it doesn't bother me that he'd have an opinion about it.

I'm not hiding. Your argument is stupid and flawed. I didn't feel the need to crush your strawman argument because it was so easily transparent. But since you asked:

You came into this thread talking about blind, irrational hate for Obama with no support for your idiotic claims, and then just kept repeating it.

So again, keep repeating that we all blindly hate Obama without any factual support, persistence is not truth.

If you had bothered to read the thread before getting all butt hurt and whiny, I said that I first had a problem with Obama being forced upon the sports world during the Superbowl when that Couric hag set him up to plug the garbage HC reform. That's trying to shove political rhetoric down my throat while I'm watching sports, in case you missed it. This simple fact completely dismantles your emotional tirade in Barry's defense.

He's not a sports fan. He doesn't know **** about sports (as has been pointed out on multiple occasions) and his whole charade as a sports fan is to bolster his public image, a fascade for being a complete failure as a the nation's leader. And like a good simpleton, you've slurped up the product without any kind of question into the deeper meaning.

I want the president to be appealing to me as someone who does what is asked of him by his constituency. Not appealing to my sports sensibilities while at the same time plugging his rhetoric.

I think the point is that people get pissed no matter what he does. That suggests blind hate. The irrational part is debateable.

And I agree that there is some level of "I don't like him, so I'm going to criticize him no matter what he does" in this thread, and just about any Texags.com thread that focuses on our president. You might not do it, but it would be hard to say nobody does.

Am I not saying it right? How can it be blind hate? It's not like I see his face and then instantly see red. He has shown he will ***** himself out to the sports world to bolster his image and rhetoric, more than any other president has. How can it be irrational? My rationale is that sports should, for the most part, be independent of politics. Nothing is wrong with throwing an opening pitch. But CONTINUALLY and frequently force feeding us a president who has shown he will use sports as a medium for his propaganda is highly annoying. That is why that blind, irrational argument has no basis other then being a stereotypical simpleton's argument.

It's fairly clear that he doesn't know shat about baseball, but he seems to follow basketball as much as most fans.

So you missed the irony then?

As to your highly complex, philosophical construct that cannot be understood by simpletons,
quote:
How can it be blind hate? It's not like I see his face and then instantly see red. He has shown he will ***** himself out to the sports world to bolster his image and rhetoric, more than any other president has.

You may not see red, but you do feel the need to asterisk your way around the profanity filter, and then declare him the most "rhetorical" president in history. As I said, that suggests blind hate. But the argument was not mine, I was just clarifying. If you'd re-read my initial post pointed in your direction, you may find that I never actually accused you of anything.

Diet Cokehead and Ag Natural nailed it. Unfortunately morons like the OP and Judge feel the need to be vindictive about everything. FWIW, Judge is a terrible poster in general.

Yes, i was able to crack that code. It just seemed like such a feeble retort in the co text of the conversation.

No, it doesn't. To refer to someone as "hooring themselves out" is a fairly common saying, it's not like I was on a profanity laden tirade. I just never cared for spelling the words in the lame internet way like I just did. I have reasons for not wanting him to be a part of sports, reasons that directly involve forcing an agenda I disagree with through a medium I think should be politcally independent. That alone totally invalidates "blind hatred".

K. You just seem to be carrying the banner at this point.
