Maybe we can just have a season long thread instead of a thread for each game


Thoughts
1) The Rockets are not a good defensive team at all without Yao in the middle
2) Shane is still a special role player, but he's lost some lift and a step over the years. He's not nearly as effective without Yao to clog up the paint and stop people from going around him
3) We need to see more Buddinger, earlier and more often. I'd love to see a lineup of AB, Martin, Buddinger, Hayes, and Hill/Jeffries. Just run the hell out of the other team. All of those guys love to run, cut, and fill the lanes. Even Hayes is somewhat effective on the offensive end when doing this

Also,

I know it's only game 2, but I'm not missing anything that Ariza did for us last year

I expected alot out of him, I really feel like he failed to deliver

Agree on Ariza. This team needs to step up on defense. Kevin Martin and Aaron Brooks are not the greatest defenders so any team with a scoring guard will give us trouble.

Like I said yesterday this is not a championship team. We will be however entertaining and fun to watch.

Good idea also about the season long thread

I would agree with you D as currently constructed, however we have assets and coveted role players coming out the whazooo. Forget the dream of Melo (which is still a very real possibility I think), if they add a guy like Iguodala this is a team that could really contend. And there is no way Morey doesn't use these assets to get better at the deadline.

Boy, if Hill cannot beat out Jared Jeffries for playing time...
