Our team right now looks like this..
PG: Lowry, Dragic
SG: Martin, Lee
SF: Buddinger, Williams
PF: Scola, Patterson, Hill, Carroll
C: Hayes, Miller, Thabeet
No real star power, but our entire starting five is full of guys who would either start at most other places or be better backups than any other current backups the other teams have. We have players. We dont have one player who can take over. Martin is a great player, but he needs his team to be effective in the halfcourt for him to do his thing. Last night, when the rest of the team broke down, he tried to create his own shots and failed.
I dont understand why we are so high on Scola. The guy is really good, but plays well smaller than he should, disappears late in games, and hasn't ever really done anything notable in close game situations. I think we could have seriously gotten something good for him, yet we deem him untouchable.
At the same time, Carl Landry is kicking ass and taking names. I would much rather have the workhorse and do it all Landry than the predictable Scola. But thats just me.
I would like to see us package our picks together with a player or two and trade for a top pick. We could get a Jared Sullinger, Harrison Barnes, or Derrick Williams and immediately upgrade our talent.
