Just imagining Olajuwon for those 2 years going up against the Bulls who typically had horrible big men. It makes me giddy just to think about. Olajuwon would have averaged 40/20 against them, there is absolutely no way the Bulls would have been able to stop him considering the Spurs (with Robinson), the Knicks (with Ewing), and the Magic (with Shaq) were brutalized by him during those 2 years.
Yes, those teams had better centers, but the Bulls were the best interior defensive team in the league at the time (and also the best offensive team in the paint). That is one of the reasons they were so damn good. They also "brutalized" the Ewing Knicks and the Shaq Magic for most of those guy's tenure.

It would have been hilarious to try and watch the Bulls scramble around trying to slow him down. For those 2 years, Olajuwon was the best player to ever play the game. That was one of the best peaks of a professional athlete that I have ever seen.
Can you think of any others that were better peaks? I can. MJ's was pretty good.

Also, Jordan played in the East, which was incredibly weak during the 90s. All of the other good teams were all in the West (besides the Knicks). The Bulls could pretty much cruise through the playoffs to the Finals while the West teams beat the crap out of each other. That Bulls team would not have had nearly as much success in the West.
I just disagree with this. The eastern conference was not NEARLY as weak in the 90's as it has been of late. During that stretch, Orlando, New York, Indiana, and Cleveland were all very solid teams, and the Alonzo Mourning/Larry Johnson Hornets were also a tough playoff out. Those teams only APPEARED weak because of the way the Bulls spanked them in the playoffs. Beside that, the western conference was considered the "finesse" conference at the time. It was the eastern conference teams like New York, Detroit, Chicago and Miami that beat each other up all the time. Go back and watch some of those New York/Miami playoff series and tell me those teams weren't beating each other up a little.
