Not many posts in this forum about the Mavs. But they have looked better than ever. So far, the eat team to ever be called Mavericks. This team would stomp 2006/7.

Overall a great year (as usual) for TX NBA teams. Rockets can come back and the Spurs are the best team in the league so far.

Spurs fan here. The Mavs are looking really good.

How good is this West this year?! If the top teams can continue at this pace the playoffs are going to be GREAT!

I wouldn't say the Mavs have an advantage over the Spurs. Last time it was said, the Spurs beat them out of the playoffs. Besides, I really think that, even though the Mavs are playing lights out, the Spurs look deeper, even without their rookie Anderson.

Cant wait to see how they work in Roddy B when he gets healthy.

Defense is definitely impressive. Dare I say . . . . . they have a Spurs look to them.

Just waiting for the Lakers to get in there rythem and they'll take down both teams as usual.

More impressive then the winning streak is their defensive stats are still solidly in the top 5, and they continue to buy into a defense first culture. Also their point differential is at similar levels of the 60 win seasons.

Unimpressive is they continue to be one of the worst FTA teams, despite having one of the highest FT%s. And still looking for that elusive 2nd all-star scorer/slasher, though Tyson Chandler might be an All-Star center.

Dirk has settled into a groove where he is nailing his jump shots early and then saving the driving and drawing fouls for the 4th.

Definitely look very solid this season thus far - the west is going to be a lot of fun once a few other teams find their rhythm down the stretch.

aaaand then we lose at home to the Bucks. Sigh.

Possibly because they won the head to head, in San Antonio, and have played a much tougher schedule than the Spurs....?
