Okay Aggs4life. I'll play. Because 1 game in basketball determines who is better. Dirk is an amazing player. You crying about him is just like longhorns crying about Colt McCoy. Do you not see that? We will never know what would happen if Dirk played tonight.

Funny you make a jab at taking SA fans seriously. I hear people talking about how dumb Mavs fans are moreso than SA fans, but that's just me. Dallas fans are known to be crybabies.

Dirk played during the playoffs last year. I realize that it was last year, but Dallas was a 2 and SA was a 7. I'm not saying that SA is better than Dallas this year, that will be determined over time. There's no point in crying like you are about Dirk not playing. You sound like a t-sip. Please stop.

We do? I seem to remember that the Mavs whipped the spurs ass in SA when both teams were healthy.

Talking about the past is fun. t-sips have done that a lot this year. Another fun historical fact...7 seed Spurs top 2 seed Mavs. Another...8 seed Warriors beat 1 seed Mavs. Another...Mavs blow series lead vs. Heat to squander away their only chance at a championship. History is fun.

I seem to recall a 103-94 Mavericks win over the Spurs back on November 26th. I think that is probably the current bar for who is better. Both teams had their stars and the Mavs wons handily. Thanks for playing Spurs fans.

I would hope so. It would be embarrassing for them to lose, way worse than losing to a full strength team. The Mavs were the team lacking incentive, because they had a built in excuse for the loss and had already proved they can beat the Spurs this year.

Conference Finals games are completely different than late December games. In the grand scheme it really didn't matter who won tonight, except the slight chance it affects playoff positioning. But I don't see how you could say the Spurs should have been less motivated than the Mavs tonight.

Teams with a star out beat teams they shouldn't beat all the time. I know you are familiar with the Ewing Theory. Sometimes that riles a team up. Sometimes it lulls the other team into a letdown game.

In any event, it doesn't matter. Everyone agrees that the Spurs are a better team than the Mavs without Dirk and the Spurs won.

Spurs have a fairly historic start on their hands (same record through 32 as the 97 Bulls that won 69 games). The 96 Bulls were 29-3 and 5 games into their 18-game win streak through 32 games - then never had another 8 game win streak - on their way to 72 wins. In 93, the Rockets started off with a 15 game win streak and won 22 of their first 23 and were 27-5 through 32.

Butthurt mavs fans.

Remember the game earlier this year? Remember the playoffs last year? Remember the championship rings?
