Both teams had their stars and the Mavs wons handily.

If by handily you mean the game being tied and the Mavs pulling away in the last couple of minutes, I guess you're right.

Typical stupid Mavs fan. LMAO @ Neal being a Center.
Typical dumbass Spurs fan doesn't recognize sarcasm when Spurs run out a lineup of 4 guards and 1 "power forward".

No kidding. I remember Marion hitting a couple 3s in that game. When the second went down I turned to my son and said "this ain't our night".

With or without Dirk this was a nice win for the Spurs. These teams have a freaky thing going where it seems the shorthanded team plays well. Plus, it seems the road team has won more often than not in the last couple of years.

Its really turned into one of the great rivalries in professional sports. The games are totally unpredictable.

It's 20-15 in favor of the home team.

typical hypocritical spurs fan. always going back to their time machine.

but when horn fans do it, they are losers thinking about the past.

Wait a sec, time machine? What do the spurs need to go back in time for? They won the game.

one of my favorite parts of the game (the fs southwest broadcast, sean elliot does great pbp) were the two spurs fans in the beginning and he just says we have 4 they have none

Classic case of bitter Mavs fan having his mind set on calling Spurs fans hypocrites before even opening the thread.

Time machine? The Spurs have the current playoff scoreboard (and the series was played in freaking May, not 2005). That isn't using a time machine you mouth breather

They've also got the regular season scoreboard, but that's not as important mid season, with Dirk being out and all. But still, playoff scoreboard, so suck it.

The mind of a Mavs fan is a scary place. Before the game starts they have already decided that it doesn't matter if the Spurs win because Dirk is out. This is in spite of it being a home game against their rival and that they are otherwise basically healthy.

Next they start immediately yelling "scoreboard" for the game that happened over a month ago. So that game is all that matters. Not the fact the Spurs have lost only 2 games since then (both road games at the end of back to backs) and the playoff drubbing the Spurs handed the Mavs last year is completely void of course. At this point the Mavs fan is so deep into holding on to the game from a month ago that they start talking about Spurs fans living in a "time machine" while forgetting their entire point is this month old game and not the one they just lost. Wow.

FWIW Mavs fans, here is the perspective you should have. Games in November and December mean almost nothing. At best they may determine seeding months from now. In the NBA though home court means less than just about any sport in the playoffs when it comes to the better teams. Both SA and Dallas are good teams. At the moment it is very hard to argue that Dallas is better than SA so why try to? It doesn't matter much for now anyway. Why not focus on the positive of what your team did or the concerns you have about it or possibly even recognize that the Spurs may just be pretty good. Simply killing yourself to find a way to keep a game played over a month ago as the only relevant barometer of who is the better team really makes you look foolish. I must admit it is entertaining though.

Well said. Btw, no Spurs fans I know personally even own conference championship gear, much less wear it publicly. I sure as hell never considered purchasing a conference title shirt. Unfathomable.

I purchased the '05 western conference champion Spurs locker room cap, mainly because they were really sharp hats.

To be fair, I also have the Finals cap from that year.

I have a number of WCF things because I am a cheap *******. And sometimes, it looks better than the Finals stuff.

In 1999, we got free MidWest Division Champs flags for the cars. After the Memorial Day Miracle, a number of us went to Sean Elliott's house and waited for him to get home to congratulate him. He signed my 99 Midwest Division Champs car flag.

He lived down the street from me. We used to play the Sega Genesis with him. He beat down every kid in the neighborhood at NBA Live.

one of my best friends was a ball boy for the spurs for a few years. He's got some great stories about hanging out with Sean Elliot and playing video games.
