Couple years ago there were plenty of teams that wanted to make him their starter. Dallas included, if I remember correctly.
I remember at like 12:01 AM when FA opened up, Daryl Morey was at his doorstep. Would love to have that guy.
I've been saying for years that he should be a starter somewhere. There aren't enough good centers to go around.
Gortat is a beast, Dallas had him basically signed iirc and Orlando decided to use their team option. Would have loved to have him around
Dallas signed, but the Magic had the option to match it and did so. Good player.
