I've brushed it off in recent years, but now it's getting out of hand. The league really is starting to rival MLB in terms of being top-heavy and it's mostly due to these 21 century superstars and agents. Not really sure what direction the league is heading in, but I'm don't like it.

Generally, I agree with what Reilly is saying, but its not like before the SuperFriends phenomenon occurred there was a lot of diversity in NBA championships.

Since 1980 championship (31 years)

Lakers - 10x
Bulls - 6x
Celtics - 4x
Spurs - 4x
Pistons - 3x
Rockets - 2x
Sixers and Heat: 1 championship each

In the past 31 years, 4 franchises account for 78% of the champions. And if we went back further, there would be a whole of Celtics domination.
