The Mavs won 58, 60 and 67 games and made it to the Finals in the three years following Steve Nash's departure.
Nash is a fantastic player, but the Mavs more then made up for his departure with the acquisitions of Jason Terry, Devin Harris and (yes Im dead serious) Erick Dampier.
The Mavs were never, ever, ever gonna beat the Spurs without a center.
With JET they got a guy who was just as good a scorer as Nash.
With Devin Harris they got an elite perimter defender is was miles better defensively then Nash ever was.
and with Dampier they got someone who could guard the paint and at least put a body on Tim Duncan or Shaq.
