it will be a great series. as a spurs' fan, though, i fear the mavs more than anybody else in the league right now. you never really know what you are getting because cuban changes the roster every other month. sooner or later, he's going to get it right.

-Lol af Spurs fans who think the Mavs will be harder to beat than the Lakers.

-Is claym the only one who doesn't recognize that Danny Vermin is someones sock troll, probably a Spurs fan trying to stir things up

-The only drama left for the Mavs is figuring out what will be least humiliating playoff defeat. It's probably best to play the Lakers, because it would be entertaining as they haven't played yet. Maybe Mavs stretch it to 7 games before losing. Losing to the Spurs would be boring - been there done that. Losing to the Thunder would be pretty humiliating - another young star has his coming out party against Dallas. So it would be best to play the Lakers in round 2. But then I could easily see the Mavs being humiliated by NO or Denver in round 1.

I'm right here moron. Sorry I cant spend every waking hour arguing with dumb-ass homers who live in the past about their old-ass basketball team. Lets make the stakes a little higher, whomevers team go out of the playoffs first, leaves this particular board until next season.

As for the rest of you, how can you think this is just the same team as always? Only Dirk and Jet remain from the '06 robbing from the stripes. We have never had a center like Chandler and we have so many more options besides Dirk and Jet that can score. It has always been about those two in crunch time. Now, we have those two plus Peja, Chandler,Barrea and Roddy who can score at will and super subs who can play lock Down defense. This is not even close to the same ol' Mavericks you guys have always watched.

This team will win the NBA title this year if they remain healthy. Period. Book it. Put it in three inch headlines.

This was not a bump for the intention of messing with spurs fans. In fact, most of you spurs fans have been quite complimentary of the Mavs. Ulrich, you are a moron.

Have you seen the moves they have made? Peja looks like the old Peja from his Kings days and Roddy is getting back to the Roddy of last year. Mix them in with Barrea just eating people alive with drives and passes and I would say it may even be a sweep.

Take out the roddy b part and I am exactly right

yeah...spurs can never use Duncan being injured with plantar facsitic or Manu breaking his arm as an excuse.

Other players have to step up. That's what the Mavs did.

The Spurs woulda destroyed Dallas this postseason.

How would the mavericks fair? Portland in 6, LAL in 5, SAS in 5 games, and MIA in 4.

Sure they can. Duncan was THE man during that year. And Manu has been THE man since 2005. The Spurs have always only gone as far as these two have taken them. History has shown that.

Don't get me wrong, what Dallas did was incredible, doing this all without butler. But they out of any other team in the league have the the ability to shoulder the load with a #3 scorer out.

Butler was the #2 guy until he got hurt.

Go back to discussions from last summer and we were saying that the only way the Mavs had a chance was if Butler returned to all-star form. And Roddy needed to replace all of Jets 6 man minutes. And Kidd needed to cut his minutes in half. And we needed Al Jefferson instead of Chandler. And Marion was overpaid. And Haywood was overpaid. And Barea was a league minimum spare. And Stevenson was just a walking expiring contract. And Carlisle was a ******* coach that would lose the team any day now. And Dirk needed to be a #2 deferring star player like his hero Pippen.

I'd say I was seeing thing pretty clearly.

I don't want any part of the Mavs this year. They're a really good team. I also don't buy the fact that the Spurs' championships give them a big edge over Dallas. The Mavs aren't OKC. Sure they haven't won it all, but they have been a playoff staple for the last decade and SA is a rival to boot.

When that series comes (and I see Dallas beating LA), it's gonna be a nail biter. I'll watch it out of duty, not enjoyment.

Unfortunately, our front court completely collapsed in the late season and we just couldn't hold up against Randolph & Gasol jr. so the match up I was predicting never occurred.
