This shouldn't be an issue but I still have nightmares about Chris Paul from his WCF performance a few years ago.

that's a lot of size to lose down low.

Dare I say LA loses the game but wins the series with Gray going down?

CP3 killing the Lakers today. Good team defense by the Hornets too, this series could go much longer than anyone thought possible. Gray going down will be a big loss going forward though, they needed all the big bodies they can throw at LA.

This is the team that no one has a chance to beat in the playoffs.

Thank god for the 7 game series. We get to draw minimum inferences from merely one game. Furthermore if the Hornets are actually better we will know over the next 6 games. If not the Lakers will expose this aberration result over the next 4.

worst game I've seen Pau play as a Laker. when you're getting punked by jarrett jack and willie green...something's up. also...it hurts not having Steve Blake (Trey Johnson lol)

that being said...Lakers in 5. they could take a dump and still beat the hornets and spurs if they needed to.

The Hornets can win if they can keep the point differential for all points accounted for between Chris Paul (and the other Hornet PGs) and Derek Fisher higher than the point differential between the rest of the Lakers and the rest of the Hornets.

I don't see that happening 3 more times.

Wllie Geen, Jarrett Jack, and Aaron Grey shoot 14 for 18 for 35 points. The Hornets have 3 total turnovers. CP3 go serious CP3. And Gasol has his worst game of all time going 2-9 for 8 points.

the Lakers will lose 9 times out of 10 if that happens. and it won't happen again

the Lakers also need to stay more aggressive. They were the only home team so far in the first round that didn't get more FT's than their opponent, and a staggering 20-4 FT advantage for the Hornets won't cut it. can't have no more of this:

that all said.....not worried. wake me up when the Finals start.

Seen this all before with the Lakers. It's the curse of Carl Landry. 2009 Houston/Lakers, Houston comes out and wins game 1 in LA to a team they're supposed to roll.

unfortunately for NO, this series won't be as back and forth as that.

The spurs aren't going to lose to Memphis.

Just like the Lakers aren't going to lose to New Orleans.

This will work out better for the Lakers to get a wake up call early now, than have to face OKC in the Conference Finals that is more than capable of beating them 4 out of 7.

Partially agree with one of Simple's posts:

-Paul looks like Paul of a few years ago
-NO ties NBA all-time playoff record for lowest turnovers
-NO bench shoots 16 of 22 (?!)
-Gasol was MIA

The only time any of these things happen in even one single game for the rest of this series again will be Paul being Paul (much less all happening in the same game again).

I hate losing Game 1 and wasting solid games from Kobe and Artest but...it just was one of those games...every time L.A. looked like it had something to start momentum in their direction, NO answered. Every. Single. Time.

Difference between Games 1 & 2:

-Paul looks like Paul of a few years ago (wasn't near as good, especially if you take away the two buzzer-beaters and the two stupid fouls on 3's by Kobe))

-NO ties NBA all-time playoff record for lowest turnovers (had double digit TO's by halftime)

-NO bench shoots 16 of 22 (?!) (complete reversal of Game 1; Laker bench was much better than NO thanks to Odom and Barnes)

-Gasol was MIA (actually happened again; I'm shocked because he owned the Hornets all year)

This may go 6 if Gasol doesn't get his head out of his *ss. They are good enough to win without both Kobe and Gasol scoring but not four times in a seven game series. Outside of the idiotic fouls on 3's, I liked Phil putting Kobe on Paul (as well as rotating others throughout the game; I think it had an effect).

If you would've told me that Kobe and Pau would combine for 19 points, i probably would've told you the Lakers were losing that game.

the Hornets looked more like the Hornets last night.

the Lakers however still do not look like the Lakers. wtf is wrong with Pau? Kobe was checking Paul, so I understand why he mightve had a game like he did.

On the plus side, Andrew Bynum looks virtually unstoppable on both ends of the court. and Odom is back

TOTALLY agree on Bynum. Been waiting years for him to have an important big game in a situation like last night. That was a game they had to have and he went after it. Gasol needs to be taking notes. If they hit you in the mouth, you have to hit back and not be a pu**y.
