I'm okay with it. The Mavs were not favored against Portland, not favored against LA, what the majority of Spurs Other would have you believe is that they won't be favored against Memphis/OKC, and won't be favored against whoever comes out of the East should it come to that.

The "nobody believes in us" factor can be powerful at times.

I dont think these Mavs will underestimate any team they see in the conference finals (nor NBA Finals). Whoever faces the Mavs in the West will have won two 7 game series and that makes them a threat. The problem is they are both fairly young teams; when they start buying into the idea that they are really X games away from an NBA Title, it makes you sloppy.

Good comments everyone. I enjoy reading observations from people who are obviously more knowledgeable about the game than I am.
