Looking at the raw stats, it doesnt favor Kobe. Keep in mind, despite these discrepancies, Kobe only gets 3 PPG higher than Dirk. (I will take 3PT shooting out of FGs just to eliminate Kobe's poorer 3PT shooting)
3pt shooting:
Kobe 115-356 .323
Dirk 66-168 .393
FG shooting (sans 3s):
Kobe 625-1283 .487
Dirk 544-1011 .538
(This includes all the fast break Kobe gets that Dirk seldom gets)
FT shooting:
Kobe 483-583 .828
Dirk 395-443 .892
If they got the same number of touches and FTs Dirk would wipe the floor with Kobe. Remember Dirk played 10 fewer games this season than Kobe because of injury, with would equate to a 13% proportional drop in raw numbers than where he should be. But I added the averages which demonstrate the gap in efficiency between the two players.
