Is he not better in almost every way? More clutch, better shooter, better finisher, better rebounder, more disruptive defender, etc.

If "he" is Wade he doesn't have the talent but he has 100 times the heart. Lebron will NEVER be better than Jordan without the desire.

For all of his clutch play (and oh how clutch he has been) he didn't finish this game very well at all. That free throw he missed that would've tied it was huge

I don't ever want to hear Bron vs MJ again until Lebron does anything to warrant it. No matter who he play with/against, MJ always made a solid impact, especially in the Finals. No matter what he was always "the man". Lebron isn't even "the man" on his own team. He doesn't even deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Jordan.

If Lebron had Wade's heart and killer instinct, he would make us all forget about Jordan. Lebron was lost out there tonight. I never saw MJ lost in a finals game...or any game for that matter.

James is obviously a special player, but...

He is definitely Robin to Wade's Batman when it matters

Lebron is the best basketball player on the planet. Period.

Wade is the heart of their team, though. And he is really, really good.

Learn has been great this playoffs, but all people will remember is him disappearing behind Wade's shadow in the finals.

Could have flipped the OP in the Chicago series. For whatever reason Lebron dominated Chicago while Wade was the decoy, now they flipped (until crunch time when neither has done anything other than watch Dirk dominate)

Lebron was the 9th best player in this game. Maybe.

Tonight was clearly the worst playoff game in Lebron's life. But the dude is still the best player in the world.

(And he was pretty close to a triple double, despite the fact that he played so poorly).

Best player in the world that doesn't show up in the biggest stage in basketball?. I think not.

Dwelling on this tonight.

If you were redoing the 2003 draft, would anyone choose Wade over Lebron?
I'd consider it.

How about choosing between Matt Bonner or Darko Milicic?

Really, that was a great draft, and not just at the top.

Also, the thread isn't really about MJ and Lebron.

I'll put it this way: I dismiss anyone who claims that Lebron is not the best player in basketball as people who just don't know basketball.

What's a worse game? 8/8/7 or 23/3/2

The second line is Jordan in game 4 in 1996.

8/8/7 is easily the worse performance of the two. I hope you weren't seriously asking that question.

You apparently don't know crap about basketball. 24/3/2 is not "easily" better than 8/8/7. Only dumbasses who don't appreciate the importance of boards and assists would say something like that.

Labron is 3 years younger and Wade has had some bad injuries. Because of that, Labron would still be picked first. But I for one have always thought Wade was better. He clearly has the heart that Labron doesn't have.

Labron? Really?

I'm rooting for the Mavs. I just have a thing about people who only look at total points scored and think that is the sole judge of basketball ability.

I appreciate defense as much as anyone, but when your claim to fame is the great d you play in the fourth and not the plays you make, you lose the arguement. Basketball is about making plays and Bron Bron has not done that.

Context please. 8/8/7 would be a bad night if it was almost 20 points below your average.

If I'm a GM I'd take an 8/8/7 night from Chuck Hayes. I'd be pissed if it came from my star player, arguably the best in the game, and we lost by 3.

Again, I get your point, but lets put it in perspective as to what expectations are for a player of his status.

8/8/7 is an average night for Scottie Pippen. A great player, but not in the best of all time argument. It's a line from a complimentary player, not a leader.

The Mavs began their comeback during this sequence when Lebron was guarding Jet:
quote:
Udonis Haslem makes jumper (Mario Chalmers assists) 72-65

10:11 Dallas full timeout
9:57 72-67 Jason Terry makes driving layup

9:33 LeBron James traveling 72-67
9:22 72-69 Jason Terry makes 6-foot two point shot
9:22 Miami full timeout
9:22 Dwyane Wade enters the game for Mike Miller 72-69

8/8/7 is a terrible, terrible night for Lebron. There is no question about that. But looking at this one game and using that as an argument that Wade is better than James is just stupid. There is no way in hell that Wade is better than James, as good as he is. Wade was fantastic tonight, and had been fantastic in this series, but nobody in the NBA would call Wade better than Lebron.

One game? LeBron was barely averaging 20 PPG in the Finals before tonight. He's no showing on the biggest stage.

Whistling...... Fail. Btw Wade won a ring without the so called best player on the planet.
