Ahh, so now after 2 weeks of trying to explain how Lebron is far and away a better player than Dirk, clay now gets upset if somebody acts like Lebron is good at all.

Also, you can't use pure Seeding - the Spurs were the #1 seed, but I don't think anyone would pick them in another 7 game series against Memphis, would they?

I'm not saying this run is better than Houston's - I'm just saying that you can't look at seeds and automatically say "this was the easiest road".

I seriously couldn't care less which path to the trophy was harder.

The Mavs beat some great teams and some great individual players to get their trophy. The fact that it ended in Miami, against the big 3, against the team that beat us in 2006, against that smug ***got Dwyane Wade is just so sweet.

Agreed. Nobody can compare 2 teams from different time periods and the teams they played. The Rockets were impressive in the 90s in beating some great teams and players, the Mavs were impressive in 2011, beating some great teams and players.

I grew up in Houston and was a huge Rockets fan before moving to OKC. Both runs are equally impressive.

Considering they were the team that EVERYONE wanted to play in the first round, yeah. It's was pretty damn impressive.

Weren't the Mavs the underdog in every series, like the Rockets in 95?

I think they were favored against the Thunder, not sure though.

Another point...
The rockets never had home court advantage in any of their series. The Mavs had it in 2 of them. The flip side is the Rockets put themselves in that position by having a mediocre regular season.

This series played like a freaking fighting game.

Round 1:
3rd Team All-NBAer LaMarcus Aldridge and the team that nobody wanted to play.

Mavs win. So let's ratchet up the difficulty...

Round 2:
The Black Mamba (a questionable 1st teamer) and Pau Pow (2nd teamer) and the zen master's 2-time defending champs.

Flawless victory for Dallas.

Round 3:
The Durantula (1st teamer) and Russell Westbrook (2nd teamer).

Dallas wins and reaches the final boss...

FINAL ROUND:
The 3-headed Cerberus featuring Wade (2nd teamer that could have been a first), James (1st teamer) and Chris Bosh.

Does Houston still have an NBA team?

Mavs are the 2nd most dominant playoff team ever since they switched to the all 7 game format in 2003.
