So who you think will go #1 overall?

Irving or Williams?

Who will the Rockets try to get at #14?

Singleton would be a great get at 14. 1st team defensive ability, and offensive game will develop because he will be allowed to stay on the floor.

1) Cleveland - Kyrie Irving
2) Cleveland trades w/ Minnesota to draft Williams (pick#4 1st rd., 2012 1st rounder, deadweight player)

14) Rockets - Marcus Morris or Chris Singleton
23) Rockets - Nolan Smith or Shelvin Mack

Irving will go first, but Cleveland might get both.

ESPN mentioned Vucevic at #14 for HOU. Apparently he is moving up the board.

Don't know a thing about Williams' work ethic or attitude, but from an eye test perspective, he is so much better than anyone else that it's not even funny. Cleveland's master plan may be to draft Irving, sandbag next year, and try to get Harrison Barnes (I know, the lottery prevents that). But Barnes is going to be a beast.

Williams is the prototypical dreaded tweener forward though. That usually doesn't work out so great in the NBA unfortunately. Though I agree, he's very talented.

I would like maybe Singleton to fall to the Rockets.

There are various rumors about the rockets too in terms of trades.

The Spurs are reportedly interested in Gustavo Ayon, a center from Mexico who plays in the ACB league. They've also intereviewed Mack, Syngler, Nikola Vucevic from USC and Dontas Motiejunas, a bigman from Lithuania who is expected to go earlier.

Chad Ford envisions the Spurs drafting Davis Bertans, a 6'10'' SF from Latvia with a pretty sweet shot for his size. I think he's the most intriguing late first round pick, but a project.

how many of these foreign players ever make it over here? The way some of these teams draft, it's like they don't want to pick anyone.

Hopefully NIKOLA MIROTIC will drop to the Mavs.

Nike Hoops Summit

Looks like a great apprentice for Dirk.

Rumor is the Rockets are gonna do it if one of the foreign big men fall there. Not official yet though. They should try to work in getting Bogut in that deal.

Wonder who we are targeting if they are available at #10

They are also targeting 8 w/ Detroit if Detroit's guy is gone there. It really sounds like the Rockets are gonna move up.

Another rumor heard today was a trade w/ Cleveland to get the #4 pick for the #14 and #23 (HIGHLY DOUBT that happens)

Looks like they will deal with Milwaukee if anybody. Also talking about trading players with them as well. Giving up Buddinger, Patterson, or Hayes (maybe more than one). I wouldn't mind giving up Bud, however Patterson or Hayes would be a BIG mistake when Patterson showed he has an amazing skill set & there is no certainty @ the 5 spot (i.e. Keep Hayes!).
Only players off that squad that seem reasonable are Michael Redd, Brandon Jennings, or Andrew Bogut. (Assuming Redd is healthy)
Really just need to focus on getting the 3 and 5 spots filled by guys who can play defense!

another thing floating around....

andy katz said the rockets have offered the twolves 10 different trade scenarios to obtain their number overall 2 pick, but the twolves have denied every single one.

Not sold Barnes will be a perennial All Star. He'll be good, though.

This is a choice between
1. An injury prone and underathletic but skilled point guard
2. Glen Robinson
3. Three foreigners who range from Nikoloz Tskitishvili to Andrea Bargnani or Memhet Okur to Dirk
4. A 'winning' but undersized, high volume shooting combo guard.

I'd take Glen Robinson every time. But ideally you'd trade you 2011 picks for ANYTHING in the 2012. This draft might be the weakest since 2000. Next years appears to be a juggernaut.

I think the only players that we should try not to trade are Lowry, Martin, Patterson, and Lee.

I'd take Williams with the 1st pick.

Gut feeling says the Rockets like Kenneth Fairied at 14. He has great rebounding stats, which appeals to Morey, and he plays tough defense inside and rebounds, which appeals to McHale.

The Rockets have absolutely no untradeable asset.

I have a feeling they end up trading up and taking the dude who's staying in Europe for a year (they are supposedly extremely high on him) or they package their picks and maybe a couple of players and trade for a good center. There are no players in this draft that would put the team over the top immediately that Morey wouldn't have to overpay for.

I just want to mention that my favorite part of the draft is the 2nd round when Adam Silver starts announcing the picks. The guy always looks like he is dying to tell the crowd a dirty joke he just heard before he came out to the podium.
