You think it is going to be that hard to find a team that wants CP3?

Yes, I do. They won't trade for him if he won't sign an extension. The list of teams he's willing to sign an extension with, that can offer acceptable players, is very small.

And no team will be able to top the lakers offer that he will sign an extension with

Simpleton , you said it was a "done deal" and a "epic thread" but now Howard supposedly wants to go to the Nets and the Paul trade looks dead.

My deal was saying that both those guys weren't going to the Lakers this season but you believe everything espn tells you. What happened to your epic thread? What happened to your done deal? Lol....

expound on how Orland would be stupid to take bynum/walton/artest for Howard/turkeyglue. please.

OK. Orlando would be giving up:
Dwight Howard (top center in the league, never injured)
Hedo Turkoglu (on the downhill side of his career, but still a matchup problem and versatile offensive threat)

for
Bynum (going into his 7th season has played an average of 55 games per year and isn't as good as Howard even when healthy)
Artest (32 year old defensive specialist and complete headcase)
Walton (is he still in the league?)

To get a sense of how uneven the Howard/Bynum part is (the real meat of the trade), if you take Bynum's best season averages in points (15 ppg in 09-10), rebounds (10.2 in 07-08), and blocks (2.1 in 07-08), Howard has beaten all three for 4 consecutive seasons. It's not that close, either; in that time Howard averaged between 3.3 and 7.9 more ppg, 3 and 4 more rpg, and .1 to .8 more bpg.

He plays an average of 81 regular season games per year, 26 more than Bynum.

Plus the fact that there is a huge chance that Bynum will miss 20+ games in any given season.
Ulrich

Bynum has played a full season once. In 5 of his 6 seasons, he has missed at least 17 regular season games.

Billings, it was a done deal. Espn was right. No one predicted the commissioner would do this. You were incorrect for the reasons you said it wouldn't happen

Don't think it was just the Stern. All 29 teams get a vote on Hornets trades apparently.

If you're trusting Woj, he said 3-4 owners expressed it. Then stern did the rest.

And it wasn't gilbert, at least not the ridiculous email. The timestamp on his email was after the trade was blocked

Looks like there was a crash during a bike race so they were clearing the track of debris.

CP3 to Clippers may also be voided by Stern.

Clippers nixed the deal. NBA/Hornets were asking for too much.

Jesus Moses. this deal will NEVER get done. the clips wouldve called it off at Eric Gordon.

Apparently, asking for Bledsoe was the deal breaker.

I stand corrected. take off Bledsoe....add in the threat of the Lakers, and Sterling caved to Stern. unreal.

The Clippers, sources said, will send guard Eric Gordon, center Chris Kaman, forward Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick to the Hornets for Paul.

clippers gave up a lot. i think NO got the better deal here than the rockets/lakers deal.

Odom, Scola, Martin, Dragic + low picks
or
Gordon, Kaman, Aminu + lottery pick

I think you could argue the Clippers would have been better off without this trade THIS season. But long-term it could work out.

Clippers will get a lot of hype but will not advance past 2nd round and Paul will cry for another trade in 2 years if his knees hold up. Hornets got some great assets but are back to being a lottery team. Good trade for the rest of the SW division.

Now the Lakers will try to trade both Gasol and Bynum for Dwight which won't dramatically improve the team. Mavs are the leaders to sign either Howard or Deron as free agents as long as they don't end up in NJ together.
Enzo The Baker

The Lakers won't trade for Dwight unless he signs an extension.

The Lakers won't give up Bynum and Pau for Howard unless they get Jameer in return.

Lol... They gave away Odom for peanuts.

Nobody wants to trade with the Lakers. Without Howard Orlando doesn't need cap room... They need draft picks.

Would you rather have 1st rounders from the Nets or Lakers?

It was a financial move to save them money, $16MM because of luxury tax.

In all fairness though, the Lakers would have Paul if it weren't for that unprecedented veto. Who know's if they would have gotten Howard.

Steve was wrong. He said it would never happen. The trade happened. But then stern went and done got himself fired.

You guys act like I'm upset about not having Paul.

Did dwight sign a contract extension or did I miss that

It's funny people are dumb enough to believe these espn reports that are just about getting idiots to get on espn.com.

Every team in the NBA would be interested not just the Lakers the chances are 1 in a 100 this fantasy works out. Espn spent two years saying lebron James would play for the Knicks, how did that work out?

Where was I wrong?
