u knew it when phil jackson left again..his timing is impeccable when it comes to leaving situations that are about to turn sour...

Meh. Would have been more impeccable if he left prior to the 4 game sweep.

The Lakers as a team has too much appeal for them to ever be down for that long. Living in So Cal with all the movie stars and great weather + their storied history... they'll always have all stars lined up to play for them. The Kobe era is probably done, though. He's only got 1-2 more years of top notch basketball left in him and I don't see them putting together a championship caliber roster in that period.
