Anyways, besides losing Darrell Arthur, the Grizzlies have now lost Zach Randolph for 6-8 weeks.

The Memphis Grizzlies today announced that forward Zach Randolph underwent a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which revealed a torn right medial collateral ligament (MCL).

Randolph (6-9, 255), who sustained the injury in the first quarter on Jan. 1 at Chicago, was seen and evaluated at the Campbell Clinic yesterday. His expected return to play is 6-8 weeks, according to team physician Dr. Fred Azar.

Xavier Henry has been traded to the Hornets for F/C Marreese Speights from the Sixers.


As for the rest of the deal, the 76ers will receive second-round picks from Memphis and New Orleans and the Hornets will receive Xavier Henry from the Grizzlies. Speights has not played in a game this season, but he is an athletic big guy who can score a bit off the bench. He figures to be the top big guy off the bench for the Grizzlies once he's settled in.

Great play down the stretch to play relatively mistake free to come back and beat a vastly inferior team.

Not sure the Warriors are vastly inferior, especially at home.

The way they play, I am not surprised that they beat the HEAT, Knicks, and Bulls, while losing to the Nets and Bobcats.

They have some weapons on that team.

The Warriors for last 5 years have always seem to play good teams well and bad teams bad. However credit to the Grizzlies for not giving up and coming back. Off to Portland going for 8 in a row.

Similar to last year, the Grizzlies have found a way to overcome the loss of a major component (Rudy last year, Zach and Darell this year) and still win games. Will be interesting to see how things shape up when Randolph comes off the injured list...

I think it will be interesting to see what happens with their 2008 draftees. I think they have until tonight or tomorrow night to extend them. My guess is they will let them become RFA, which means at the end of the season Arthur, Speights, Mayo will all be RFA, and Sam Young UFA.

Also, Hammad and the worthless Josh Davis will be UFA.

Watching the game tonight, damn if Speights could actually hang on to an offensive board, the Grizz would be winning this game...bad case of stone hands by him tonight.

ugly 3rd Q so far for the Grizz. Only about 4:00 left in the quarter and they have no field goals and only 2 FTs and the Blazers are slowly pulling away up by 14. Grizz look like they've hit the wall a bit and are settling for a lot of jumpers and bricking them badly.

And have gotten owned all night on the glass. Camby I think has more rebounds than the entire Grizzlies team it seems...

True, but at least they get a day between each one. They expended a lot getting that win last night against GS and I had the feeling they might be a little flat tonight. The Blazers have been Grizzly killers, just seem like a bad matchup, never could get much inside tonight.

I was hoping for 2-2 at worst on this West Coast swing and that's still a good possibility. They should handle the Suns on Sat and hopefully can beat the Clips Thurs.

Turnover city tonight

Lousy road trip. Lost to the freakin' Suns tonight. Suns were on the 2nd game of a back to back and the Grizzlies had a day of rest and got thoroughly outhustled and outplayed. A bad foul call at the end led to gamewinning FTs for the Suns but the Grizz blew this one hard in the first half.

Recurring theme for every game: Grizz got down early (won the GS game, but that was it)

3 game losing streak with SA up next on Monday.

Just finished watching on DVR.

Jared Dudley with 4 gift free throws at the end of the game, 2 for pushing over Gasol, and 2 for falling down in front of Conley.


But yes, they blew the game with another slow start and poor night of shooting.

Another slow start for the Grizz and bad shooting. Its almost like they have to get down by double digits before they wake up...

Freakin' Rudy Gay needs to shoot and get aggressive on offense, he's the star guy, not give it up to the wild ass Tony Allen for alligator arm layups.

No protecting of the defensive glass at all. They are letting Kawai Leonard kick their ass all over the court. Pathetic effort coming back home after a losing streak.

Slow starts have killed them all year having to constantly claw back game after game.

Through almost 3 quarters Gay has no FGs and 1 point coming at the FT line. Gasol is 1 of 7.

They just aren't going to win against any team, let alone a good team like SA with those kinds of numbers from your top guys.

They have way too much talent and potential to be playing this poorly.

I haven't been keeping up with the Griz this season, but how is Speights doing? Is he starting in place of ZBo?

I really like the Grizzlies and was pissed when Arthur went down, and real pissed when Randolph went down. I love a team with that down low presence that is so rare in the NBA today.

For you Griz fans, what are your thoughts on the Mayo rumor mill? It seems like an annual thing, and I've always kind of thought it was stupid, but this year with your top two PFs out, would you be willing to trade Mayo for another PF?
