I'm surprised no one has made a thread yet about this storied franchise.

What are your thoughts on this team so far? At 15-16, is this team overachieving? How many more basketballs will Rondo throw at an official? Is Doc Rivers a lock for Coach of the Year? Thoughts?

Boston is an example of an EC team that would probably be on the outside looking in in the WC.

They are a playoff team in the East that is 1-6 against teams in the West.

Boston doesn't have it this year, too many factors stacked against them being successfull
:
~ losing jeff green for the season before it started

~ shortened season obviously has a negative effect on a veteran team

~ injuries that have caused 10 players to miss at least 1 game this season

~ the east has gotten better, the 2 best teams in the league play in the east

In a perfect world with a full training camp and full regular season to play with each other, the Celtics would have been fully capable of winning the title. Since none of that obviously happened, they've got no shot to get past the 2nd round of the playoffs.

The east has gotten so much better, that 2 aub .500 teams are in the playoff race.

Patag nails it. The east is top heavy and overall easily the weak conference.

What are you trying to say, throwing a bunch of money at a pair of aging stars to buy a title isn't a great long-term strategy?

Check that: 1-7 versus the West.

well they TRADED for 2 stars, won a title decisively, and would've won at least one more had KG and Perk not gone down with injuries at the wrong time.

FWIW, I'll be rooting for the Celtics during the first round of the EC playoffs when they are matched up against the #1 seed HEAT.

(If they can hold off Kyrie Irving and the Cavs).
