I was actually more impressed with Steve Blake the last time I saw him.

I think Sessions will turn the ball over more than Blake (or DF), but he will be able to get past a defender which allow him to dish.

Good 3 point shooter, but there is a loss in leadership; also something to be said about having point guards who can be content with fewer shots, and be able to manage the egos on the court.

So Simplebay agrees that this wasn't a significant upgrade. The Lakers won 3 straight WCF and were the favorites last year headed into the playoffs. After being swept in the 2nd round and losing their coach they needed to make roster and coaching improvements to return to favorite status, and they have clearly failed.

You dont seem to understand what going from the worst pg in the league to a decent pg is.

With the best coach of all time leaving, flaming out in last years playoffs as they did, in a shortened season with a then older team....there was almost no way they were going to be considered favorites. No matter what they did now, or at the beginning of the season.There was only one or two moves in the league that might have made them favorites. but you clearly do not understand what "upgrade" is if you do not think Sessions/Hill are an upgrade from Fisher/Walton. I mean, just let that sink in for a second.

This was a great move from a basketball standpoint, monetary standpoint, and by definition of an upgrade (let me help you out)- it certainly gives the Lakers a much better chance to go to the finals. a better chance than they had 2 days ago.

And to Iowa's point....sessions is not a actually shooter. Just has been shooting the 3 well this year. But hes a terrific ball handler and has one of the best assist/turnover ratios in the league

This wouldn't totally surprise me seeing that the Spurs have two sets of b2b2b's coming up and some stretches where they play 6 games in 8 days. Pop will not play his big guns in all those games. Even if it's a close race. He just dgaf tbqh.

The Phoenix Suns need to create a roster space to absorb Marcus Morris, which could become Jermaine O'Neal. The Suns have been trying to deal O'Neal, but a buyout is more likely. The New York Knicks are believed to be interested in O'Neal.

Trade deadline is over. Might be a few more deals trickling in during the next 30 minutes to an hour. Josh Smith was at Atlanta Hawks practice today and it looks like he is staying put unless theres a deal being negotiated right now that nobody knows about.
