Gosh, over the span of about 2 years, this guy has gone from one of the most likeable stars in the NBA to one of my most hated. Can't get enough of himself. His antics are childish and ridiculous. The more that comes out lately and he sounds like a worse version of Kobe's earlier career antics.

Howard is coming off like such a tool. The Magic are in a bad way. They should have gotten rid of him before the trade deadline.

I thought the awkward moment after the Van Gundy interview was pure gold.

LBJ's situation wasn't this bad IMO. the mike brown situation was pretty unclear as far as where Lebron stood(or if he requested/was asked to give his opinion/or even where he stood with Brown alltogether).

This latest Howard thing was as straight as it gets, considering VG's comments and Dwight's reactions.

This is getting on my nerves. This is always the time of year where I go from catching games on TV and keeping up in general with basketball to truly watching games and teams as they get ready for the playoffs....I don't want to hear this every 20 minutes on ESPN.

Yea that's pretty bad. But I think it was very unprofessional of Van Gundy to come out and say that. Orlando was getting some nice wins against some good teams last month. But now, he's going to totally lose all of his players as shown tonight. Their season is down the tube.

I think he saw the writing on the wall when Howard wasn't traded, and those rumors that Howard could pick his coach/GM came out...whether they were true or not, VG was probably begging that he be traded. Once he wasn't, he knew(along with Howard) that it's a lame duck year for him and Howard wields more power if the Magic want any chance of keeping him around.

Waiving that opt-out clause is looking like a smarter and smarter decision every day.

I understand why he did it. But he was a selfish baby in doing so. There are 11+ players on the other team that this adversely affects.

I lost a ton of respect for him, I believe Stan 100%, and view Howard as a liar and a adult baby now. It's hilarious when Howard says to the reporter. ( who's yo source?) Then the reporter says stan just told us, and he is obviously caught in his lie and is busted.

Personally, he has surpassed LeBron on my unlikeability meter. LBJ at least made a decision and got on with it.

Howard is just something else. SVG isn't handling it the best way, but still. The 8 and 8 he put up today on national television was about as indicative of a performance as there is in determining what kind of the player he is.

Embarrassing for the league.

Obv Dwight has been dragging the Magic through the mud for a while. Prima Donna antics, flip flopping, inconsistent effort, etc.

I don't care how bad it gets, if your SVG and you are still competing during a season you don't go and pull that crap. Be the bigger man, handle it behind close doors or wait until the seasons over.

How can the Magic keep him for another year? This will never go away unless they pull off some miracle Gasol/Lakers style trade

Meh, I've never cared for this clown. He has always tried waaaaay too hard to make people like him, from his "new NBA logo", to calling himself superman, to all his childish antics (horrible impersonations, singing during interviews, flip-flopping on getting traded). He has just always came off as incredibly unlikable. I think this is just another example of what the limelight will do to an incredibly talented, naive boy. He is still a child at heart, and thats his biggest problem. His issues all stem from a lack of maturity (technical fouls, baby mama issues, making decisions, calling for the head of his coach). Homeboy needs to stop acting like a punk kid and grow the eff up.....NBA = No Boys Allowed.

I used to like DH because he didn't take himself too seriously and just seemed excited to be playing the game of basketball. Now he is looking more and more like the stereotypical spoiled-child superstar.

20.6ppg, 14.4rpg, 2.2bpg, 58% FG, 49% FT in 38mpg, PER 24.2, Eff 26.2

18.3ppg, 11.9rpg, 2.0bpg, 58% FG, 65% FT in 35mpg, PER 23.5, Eff 24.6


Sure glad the Lakers didn't get him, because he didn't wanna play in LA either. Those numbers would've tanked as they are beginning to in Orlando. Granted, it's the Post:

Yeah, and Bynum is developing his 3 point shot to become a stretch 5, something Howard could only dream of.

and let's not forget Bynum is still 2 years younger than Howard.

And his knees are 10 years older than Howard's.
