The Warriors, NBA Commissioner David Stern and San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee officially announced Tuesday that the Bay Area's only NBA team will try to move back to scenic San Francisco. The earliest the team could leave Oakland would be 2017, when it can escape its lease at Oracle Arena.

The two towns are more/less the same thing anyhow. They ought to just put the stadium on Treasure Island and call it even.

Not sure if you've been there but Oakland and SF are two different worlds.

Maybe they should focus more on trying to assemble a halfway decent basketball team. From what I understand their fans show up in droves right now in Oakland, even with one of the crappiest teams in the NBA.

It's got to be a power play to get a new arena. Or maybe the Oakland stadium doesn't have enough luxury boxes.

It's jam packed every night with rabid fans. Television ratings aren't gonna change by moving 10 miles.
