Big sigh of relief that Dirk made it in this year.

Looks about right to me. I may have replaced Carmelo or Dirk with LaMarcus Aldridge. That's about it.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Aldridge and Dirk's stats are almost identical except:

LA has the edge in FG%
Dirk has the edge in 3 point %
LA has 1.3 more rebounds per game
LA played 2.8 minutes more per game than Dirk

The BEST team in the league only gets ONE guy, and he's a second-teamer???

ooooookay....

The Bulls had the same regular season record as the Spurs and they the best they got was Luol Deng on the All-Defensive 2nd Team.

These look pretty good to me. Happy for tony.

As far as tony being the only Spur, who else should be on there?

11.3 points
9.9 rebounds
1.4 blocks
33.2 minutes
36 wins

or

15.4 points
9.0 rebounds
1.5 blocks
28.2 minutes
50 wins

The argument for Duncan as 3rd team center would be an easy one.

If Duncan had a first-team NBA type season, they would list him at F not C.

And either way, Al Jefferson would go in before Duncan did. Maybe even Marc Gasol.

Gasol was 14.6/8.9 - both worse than Duncan on a team with 9 less wins. Laughable.

Jefferson would be a more logical argument with 19.2 and 9.6. But he did get punked pretty bad by Duncan in the first round and his team won 14 less games than the Spurs.

clearly the media hates the spurs as tony parker clearly has been better than chris paul since french fries.

what an outrage.

Glad to see Kobe receive his much deserved 10th 1st Team and 14th overall All-NBA selection. Should he repeat this feat in his final 2 seasons, and I fully expect that he will, Kobe will stand alone with the record for both 1st team and overall All-NBA team selections.

According to the votes, Duncan was behind TheMarcus, Marc Gasol, Pau Gasol, Al Jefferson, and Garnett for the last PF/C spot. He certainly has played better than the Gasols and Jefferson in the playoffs. TheMarcus probably would have made it if he hadn't gotten injured and had his team collapse.

Agree completely. 2nd team?? He doesn't even have a post move. Just scores on pick and roll dunks 70% of the time

yeah but he threw it down over the license plate of a KIA in the dunk contest last year..so he's the best player in the league. you didn't get the memo?

People gawk at hard "hard" he dunks...**** if the internet and instant highlight age were around 20 years ago I'm pretty sure we'd all be hearing Shawn Kemp is better than MJ.

This is why Vince Carter was an all-star starter way longer than he should have been.

Well, it increases his "legacy" but the title was all he was missing. And the way he got it was awesome.

QUESTION: At what point should games played impact post-season honors?

Clearly, missing 40% of the season is too much (Rose), but missing 25% of the season is apparently not too much (Wade).

It brings up another point, for scoring champ or steals or rebound champs, why do per game average and not total?

Also, who is voting for DeMarcus Cousins and why do they still have a vote?

People that watch basketball, Cousins is a monster. He averaged 18 ppg, 11 rpg, and 1 bpg this year. If he wasn't a head case and played on a decent team he would be a star.

How long do you want to ignore this user?

^Co-sign 100%. Been saying this all year. He's wildly inconsistent and as sure of a headcase as they come. But if he has his head on straight, he's capable of being the best big man in the NBA...like next season. He's an incredible talent and already light years ahead of Dwight Howard in terms of offense.

All-NBA Team? No. But he's one of the 15 most talented players in the league as of today.
Iowaggie

DeMarcus Cousins is one of the top 15 players in the league? He had one of the best seasons this past year among bigs?

So the All-NBA team is now based on potential?

Here are the categories where DMC leads all big men.

Turnovers (no one turns the ball over more)
Fouls (he gives them more than anyone)

wildly inconsistent and top 15 players in the league (or top 6 PF/C) doesn't equate (at least among people who watch basketball).

Voters should vote based on actual performance, not potential, nor to pass out an honorary certificate of participation award.

Hudson2508
How long do you want to ignore this user?

I'm not saying he should have made the All NBA team, I'm just saying that giving him a vote isn't out of the question at all. Scola getting two votes is a lot worse than Cousins getting one vote.
