I think Parker, Gervin, TD, and Robinson are all unarguable. The 5th starter is tough. If I was seriously trying to put a team together, I'd pick Bowen. With those other 4 guys, you don't need a guy who can get his own shot.

Imagine Moses, Hakeem, Elvin Hayes, Calvin Murphy, and Clyde playing TD, David, Bruce, Tony, and Gervin.

SA's team gets the nod, but it would be a hell of a game. (I wonder if Hayes could play the small forward?)

If Gervin played with Robinson/Duncan/Parker/Manu I think he would shoot 70%. Never seen anybody that was so smooth and could score so effortlessly as Iceman. That finger roll was a thing of beauty but he just didn't miss open jumpers.

I thought about that. You'd definitely start two of them. I think Hayes had the kind of game such that he could play small forward in today's NBA, but I'm not sure about that. He could definitely guard Bowen.

Why are you surprised that the greatest perimeter defender is Spurs history is mentioned? Did you miss the caveat that "if I was picking a team to play real games, I might pick Bowen, since that team wouldn't need another scoring?" Or do you think that the best basketball team just consists of the 5 best scorers lumped together?
