Asmus had three gold gloves and was an All-Star. Unless you put Biggio at catcher, he is probably your catcher.

That is sad - Texas can loan you Jim Sundberg if you need him.

As for Bowen - with Parker, Duncan, Robinson, and Gervin, you could probably do fine if you stuck Ray Bowen out there with them.

how is it possible that Desert Fever has his number retired but isn't even a top 50 spur of all time?

He is easily top 50 Spurs. He led the NBA in assists while playing against Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Mo Cheeks, and Tiny Archibald.

Spurs PGs are:
Tony Parker
Alvin Robertson (DPOY, averaged 20p/7a/6r/3s in 88, has four of the top 10 seasons in steals ever, one of the best perimeter defenders ever)
Avery Johnson
Johnny Moore
Rod Strickland

I don't know if you were listing them in order, but I'd probably put both Moore and Strickland ahead of AJ. I kind of take the Damon Stoudamire approach to AJ - they won in spite of the fact that AJ was not a very good player.

I guess his leadership probably has to be factored in.

Strickland loses points for the pass against portland and the fact that he was only in SA for 2 years.

Moore had 4 good seasons with the Spurs. Avery was the Spurs's guy for 6 seasons. Shot around 48%, averaged 7.7apg and 11ppg. Peaked at 13/10. Plus he was never really one of the guys that disappeared in the playoffs and he hit that game winner against the Knicks. I think Avery just accomplished more and for longer than Moore did. If I was choosing on talent, I would take Rod over either of them. But Rod was a knucklehead and wasn't with the Spurs very long.
