Look. The refs didn't do the Spurs any favors tonight. But it wasnt the reason the Spurs lost. It wouldnt even break the top 10 reasons for the series loss.

Duncan was frustrated with the season ending and commented on the officiating. End of story.

You guys calling Timmy classless are ridiculous. The dude has been one of the classiest guys in the league for 15 years and a model for players everywhere.

Durant got to the free throw line just by touching the ball. Duncan is right. Don't feed simple bay.. You know she got wet waiting to get on here to troll once the spurs finally lost.

I didnt call him classless. In fact, I said we expected better.

What he said and did was a stupid, classless, trashy and downright surprising thing though. One instance does not a career make.

He is undoubtedly one of the biggest on the court whiners of calls of all time though.

You can call him a whiner. That's fine. Hey guess what? Kobe whines too. But I'm not worried about it.

Duncan has showed the NBA how to dominate and keep a humble, low key persona. Not many superstars can say that.

Tim Duncan.

Still haven't seen the one that simple is going off of, but what I saw was started with Duncan first saying to "Give all the credit to OKC, they're a hell of a team", "I don't think it was a lack of effort on our part, OKC just showed to be a better team". "They made shots we didn't". "I thought OKC did a good job". "Bottom line is, they outplayed us for a stretch there and they outplayed us when it mattered".

I'm sure he made a comment about the refs out of frustration and simplebay is going to town with it claiming he's classless. The interview I just watched was nothing but class.

Then, after all that, one little comment

Huh? So you didn't call him classless, but then you said this? Also, in your OP you said it was trash move. Pretty much implied you thought this was a classless interview.

One is objectifying his whole persona based on one interview.

The the other is classifying his interview based on his interview

Fair enough. But my point was in one interview or another Kobe was just as "classless", or Phil was just as "classless". Hence the hypocrite comments that I completely stand behind.

Call it classless all you want. The refs dominated the fourth quarter of that game. They've done it before and they'll do it again. The best you can hope for is to be on the right side of their bets that night.

I'm surprised TD said something but I'm glad he did. It was terrible and they need to be called out. OKC had to make shots but to say it didn't have an impact is myopic at best.

Well said.

As my dad always says, 'The NBA is crap. The refs usually spot the home team 10 pts when you're on the road so you have to plan on being 10 pts better to win.'

The refs weren't the only reason the Spurs lost but they spotted them at least 7 pts last night. The Spurs have no one to blame but themselves. They had to take care of business at home in game 5 but didn't. The NBA is still a joke though. I'd like to watch a season where I didn't feel like the teams weren't the ones fully deciding the outcomes of games for once. And this does not just go for this series or particular game either. It happens ALL THE TIME for teams I do and don't like. How about get some better refs that call things consistently? How about regulate the constant whining to officials by players and coaches?

I'd love to see fines and in game technicals for flopping to keep players like Chris Paul, Wade, Harden, and, yes, Ginobli under control with that crap. This is basketball. Not soccer.

As someone who is a Spurs fan and acknowledges that Ginobili, Parker, and occasionally Neal or Duncan flop, I am very much in favor of technicals for flopping.

I've always felt that while the Spurs flop, they make sure to get the shot off first. Certain players around the league don't even seem to care about getting a good shot off (Chris Paul, Paul Pierce, and Dwyane Wade, for example) ; they collapse like someone slashed their hamstrings on first contact. Other players do the kickout or ridiculously wide spread legs on jumpers to initiate contact with the closeout (Nick Young, James Harden).

Finally, rewarding flops puts the players who DON'T flop at a disadvantage. If Chris Paul got domed like Leonard did on that offensive rebound, Paul would have somehow contrived to literally make his head fall off and roll around on the court. Leonard just tried to get the ball back, so the Thunder got the ball. Try doing the Durant elbow swing against Raja Bell; even the wind from a near miss makes him go down like he got hit by charging rhinoceros, but against Leonard or Jackson it just creates space.

Y'all are f****** idiots if you think Timmy is classless. I'd even say the same for if you think the refs didn't massively alter that game in favor of OKC. But I understand a lot of that is opinion and a lot of people are swayed by their hatred for the spurs.

The refs were absolutely the reason OKC won. Their rallies throughout this series were sparked by foul calls and free throws. Thats how all their comebacks were generated.

Tim told the truth. Yes he complains about every call just like ALL MBA players do. But if you noticed, for about the last 3-4 minutes of that game the spurs would just walk away after being calle fr a foul bc of the ridiculous rate they were coming

I don't care that the Spurs lost. I would've like them to win but will cheer on the Thunder to hopefully beat the Celtics (hoping for a Heat loss and the hilarity on ESPN to follow).

I just want a good product on the court and to feel like the players decide the games. The Thunder deserved to win this series. They showed they were the better team and stepped up at the right times.

I still remember the Kings getting screwed by the refs against the Lakers years back in the WCF. Don't give a crap about the Kings but that always annoyed me knowing the chips were stacked against them because of the refs. I hate flopping, ref pandering, and homer calls. They hurt the credibility of the league and overall enjoyability of the product. The NFL may get a lot of flack from the players, but they are constantly changing rules and searching for ways to make the game more competitive, interesting, and fair. The NBA needs to take some notes and follow suit to begin attacking those types of issues. Hopefully it would go better than their dress code policy changes. They went from gangster wear and s**** pants to a bunch of goobers walking around with lenseless glasses, pink pants, and wrist handkerchiefs.

Yeah, it definitely had nothing to do with parker disappearing in the 2nd half, Ginobli disappearing after the first shot of the game and every spurs role player outside of sjax crapping his pants for the 4th straight game.

Plenty of questionable calls, but welcome to the NBA. You don't lose 4 games in a row due to the refs. OKC was simply the better team.
