From Peter Vecsey's twitter, a very unreliable news source, and then further promoted by Bleacher Report (in other words, take it FWIW).

Memphis, by the way, says a source, is offering Zach Randolph, another solid citizen, for Pau. Rudy Gay, as of now, is not available

This would be most Grizzlies fans reaction to the trade.

Grizzlies did make QO to Darrell "brittle" Arthur and Mo Speights, and must have been worried about OJ taking the QO, and clearly worried about the luxury tax.

Grizzlies could still do sign and trade with OJ (like with Boston). I think there is plenty to be concerned about with OJ Mayo. The guy was once neck and neck with D. Rose for R.O.Y., and now doesn't get a QO.

Rumor: Raja Bell will soon be amnestied

Grizzlies to pursue Ray Allen, along with several other players, and willing to offer $5 mil.

Grizzlies ownership is willing to go into luxury tax this year.

Right now, I don't think the HEAT get Ray Allen. Several teams, including Phoenix, are willing to pay quite a bit more for him, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him back in Boston.

Rashard Lewis now UFA as he was waived by the Hornets.

Gerald Wallace re-signed with the Nets: 4/40!

Nets looking to also trade for Joe Johnson.

Which, if they get Howard, Wallace, Joe Johnson, and Deron Williams, they will be way over lux tax, won't they?

Duncan's deal should be finalized soon. Meanwhile the Spurs are said to have interest in Ilyasova and Camby.

The guys on the NBA channel did not seem to believe Nash would resign with the Suns.

Hopefully Cuban makes a run for him if the DWill thing does not pan out.

Andre Miller, 3 years, $9 million, Denver Nuggets

More offers

Nicolas Batum, 4 years, $45-50 million (offer sheet), Minnesota Timberwolves

Steve Nash, 3 years, $36 million, Toronto Raptors

Ray Allen, 2 years, $12 million, Boston Celtics

(and as repeated in 2-4 other threads):
Omer Asik, 3 years, $25.1 million (offer sheet), Houston Rockets

Damn. Those are nice contracts for Nash and Batum. You have to think Portland will match.
Judge

Portland should match. Batum is a baller. Trail Blazers have positioned themselves well after trade-raping NJ, especially if Indiana doesn't match Hibbert's sheet.

Wow. It will be hard for the Mavs to match that. That's a helluva contract for a 38 year old PG.

Not signing Chandler and Barrera last year is looking worse and worse.

Hawks also trade Marvin Williams for Devin Harris. I don't really see that benefiting either team that much.

Howard to Nets is still a possibility:

The trade would be Howard for Brook Lopez, Kris Humphries, MarShon Brooks and the Nets' first-round picks in 2013, 2015 and 2017.

If the Nets land Williams and Howard to go along with JJ and G. Wallace, those 1st round picks won't be worth a whole lot.

I'm surprised we haven't heard anything on Duncan. If I had to guess, the Spurs have something in the works elsewhere and Duncan will concede accordingly for it to go through.

Just going up online and via SportsCenter: Raptors and Knicks' RFA Landry Fields have agreed to three-year offer sheet

Looks like they followed the Asik trade template. Third year jump. Landry is getting paid.

This would hurt the Knicks from doing any sign and trades (Nash) without Landry Fields and his contract. It would help remove one more team from the Steve Nash pursuit.

LA Clips have agreed to sign and trade with the Nets for Reggie Evans. (3 yr /$1.6 mil/year)

If the Howard trade goes through, what could the Nets have left to do a sign and trade?

Nets lineup?
Deron Williams
Joe Johnson
Gerald Wallace
Reggie Evans or minimum type player
Dwight Howard

Chris Broussard is reporting via Twitter that New Orleans Hornets restricted free agent Eric Gordon will agree to a maximum $58 million offer sheet from the Phoenix Suns. Gordon met with the Suns at length today and apparently liked what he saw enough to go on ahead and agree to a deal before even meeting with all the other teams that may have had an interest in him.

“I strongly feel (the Suns) are the right franchise for me,” Gordon told Broussard. “Phoenix is just where my heart is.”

That makes it sound like he really, really hopes the Hornets won’t match the sheet, but $14.5 a year average for a player who could be one of the best two or three shooting guards in the league by the time his four year deal wraps up is appropriate, and it would be pretty outrageous for New Orleans to let him walk, despite the max money. Expect them to match the offer and keep Gordon in New Orleans to play with Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers.

Others:

Brandon Bass has agreed to a three-year deal with the Boston Celtics, according to sources close to the power forward.

The Los Angeles Clippers have signed Jamal Crawford to a four-year, $24 million deal.

Jameer Nelson’s three-year deal is believed to be worth $19.7 million, according to league sources. (Resign with Magic)

I wouldn't mind if the Clippers would lose a few parts, and not just keep adding them.

Free agent guard Nick Young reportedly has agreed to terms on a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Young’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN.com Friday the Los Angeles native has a one-year contract for about $6 million.

Now if the Sixers re-sign Sam Young, and don't trade Thaddeus Young, they will have cornered the NBA market on Young players.
