The owners have really gotten sucked into these since Miami has pulled it off. I still believe a well balanced team beats Miami. The Mavs were a very complete and DEEP team last year and Miami had no answer. The Thunder will be back and more experienced. They had Miami in every game but were just too inexperienced. The spurs play well as a team, the Lakers will be better. The bulls have a shot to beat the heat with a healthy rose. I just think its funny when teams try to become super teams now. Brooklyn is not a super team with Williams, Johnson, and even Howard if he comes. If the mavs would have stuck together instead of Cuban getting a boner for Williams and Howard playing beside dirk the mavs I feel would have been in great shape for the repeat.

Why do people always "blame" Miami for the Superteam situation in the NBA? What about Boston when they put Garnett and Allen with Pierce? Or even as far back as when Orlando signed Grant Hill and Tracy McGrady (the 2 top FA's that year)? I guess it just makes Miami easier to hate when you blame them...

garnett and allen *****ed and complained their way out of their two towns, but bosh and lebron signed as free agents and did what free agents are allowed to do. One side was vilified, one had it's jizzed hand collected by ESPN

Exactly...which is why I don't understand how when people complain about "super teams" their hatred centers on the Heat instead of Boston.

Definitely would of stood a better chance of taking down the likes of the Thunder and Lakers.

We still might be able to beat the Rockets out for that 8th spot though.

Did anyone see the ESPN comparison of Howard to other prominent centers that were traded in their prime (Wilt, Kareem, Shaq)? Kareem's numbers were slightly better than Shaq's but Wilt's numbers were insane. He was averaging something like 37 points and 25 rebounds a game after 8 seasons.

Here are his stats

Wilt has a lot of unbreakable records, especially in the average minutes played category.

NBA Record - Most minutes played per game for a season (48.53 in 1961-62).

That's amazing. He holds the top 7 spots in this category.

Wait wait, they had Miami in EVERY game yet still managed to lose in 5, huh? Damn that Scott Brook, outcoached even by the likes of Spoelstra.

Magic Johnson and Larry Bird both benefited from playing on Super teams in the 1980's loaded with star players.

This isnt anything new.

Miami 2011 > Miami 2012

The Heat last year tore through a tougher Eastern Conference.

They had a much tougher time making it trough the playoffs this past season.

Umm... no. Miami 2011 couldn't handle the Mavericks. Miami 2012 throttled a much better Thunder team.
