In a game to 15 by 1, LeBron won 15-10

Of course, Jordan is about to turn 50. Doesn't have the ups to win.

There is no debate right now. If Lebron keeps playing like he is and wins 3-4 more titles over the next 4-5 years, then maybe we can talk. Maybe.

Wake me up when Lebron has 6 rings. Better yet, just 3.

I only quoted stats in response to Token quoting stats (that and because stats are interesting). Everything else was questions.

You guys are looking for reasons to defend Jordan whether anyone is attacking him or not.

No matter how many championships Lebron wins it must always be remembered he took the easy way out. Jordan made the Bulls better, made Pippen a HOFer, etc. LeBron will never match Jordan.

My God, I get so sick of people saying that stupid crap. Jordan was drafted by the Chicago Bulls, one of the richest big market teams in the NBA. He didn't have to leave the Bulls; they brought him Scottie Pippen (one of the 50 greatest players to ever play) and Dennis Rodman and developed guys like Toni Kukoc. Jordan couldn't win for something like 8 years until he got another top level talent in Pippen. Lebron came closer with Cleveland than Jordan ever did with one his lesser talented Bulls teams, and Lebron never had the benefit of the Zen Master, either.

Lebron is closer to being compared to Pippen than Jordan at this point of his overall career.

Except for those three MVPs and the scoring title.

Except for those 6 NBA championships and 8x all nba defense first teams as well.

Pippen is solidly on the list of greatest 50 to ever play.

And, yet, still, fool....please. That's just silly.

After this season Lebron is going to have more MVPs than Pippen had all-NBA first teams.

Simplebay is really trying to put James in a tier with Pippen to prop up Kobe.

I would enjoy having both of them on my team. Right now mj is the greatest of all time, but by the end of his career lebron could have him passed up. The way he's playing right now is insane.

Ulrich, I don't need to Pippen to prop up Kobe. Kobe's accomplishments already put him above Lebron. Lebron isn't approaching Kobe. certainly isn't approaching Jordan.

and that's not me who said that.

It was Jordan.

quote:
Jordan said he currently views Bryant as having the more successful career to this point than James.

"If you had to pick between the two, that would be a tough choice," Jordan, now owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, told program host Ahmad Rashard, "but five beats one every time I look at it."

I know the Lakers are having a bad season so you have to find solace in something, but this just isn't true. The only reason why LeBron doesn't have Kobe's rings is because up until two years ago, he was playing with a bunch of scrubs.
Simplebay

Then the above is the reason Kobe doens't have Lebrons MVP count

No way Kobe takes that 2007 Cavs team to the finals.

And LeBron is getting MVPS with Bosh and Wade. Give me a break.

Lebron took the '07 Cavs to the finals. Kobe took the '05 Lakers fishing. Lebron won 8 playoff series in 7 years with the Cavs. In his 3 seasons without elite big men, Kobe led the Lakers to 0 playoff series wins. When Lebron left the Cavs, they went from 61 wins to 19. The Lakers posted 34 wins with Bryant still on the team.

That 2007 Eastern Conference playoff road the Cavs took was one of the easiest roads to the Finals ever. The fact that Kobe led that team to 34 wins is practically a miracle. Please look up that roster again. Aside from Caron Butler, none of those players are qualified NBA starters much less stars or All-Stars. The 2005 Lakers also lost Phil Jackson that year. That explains that drop. It also explains the Cavaliers 61 to 19 drop since they also lost Mike Brown who won COY not a year earlier as well as their GM.

The only people left who think Kobe's career equals Lebron's are Lakers homers and ex-Wizard GMs who drafted Kwame Brown and Adam Morrison.

I agree, no one is stupid enough to think Lebron's career is more successful than Kobe's.

Is Lebron better than Kobe right now? Obviously.

Is Lebron's career anywhere near Kobe's? Nope (see: Jordan's quote)

Hell it's even debateble whether you'd rather have a in-prime Lebron (see: now) or in-prime Kobe.

I'd rather have in-prime LeBron.

In prime Jordan > Bron > Kobe

Right, because the '07 Cavs had such a salty roster. Big Z, Larry Hughes, and Drew Gooden headlined a roster that let Eric Snow start 45 games. Donyell Marshall got 17 minutes per game.

I thought it had been agreed that Mike Brown's "COY" award would be put in quotation marks for the remainder of time. He is currently unemployed after trying to run the Princeton offense with the Los Angeles fking Lakers, so it turns out he's not actually all that good a coach.

Lebron is substantially better in crunch time than Kobe. It's not even close. Refusing to pass the ball with the game on the line doesn't make you a closer, it makes you an inefficient, ineffective player. Kobe is 26% on game winners; Lebron is 42%.

Ulrich

OK, add a miss to Lebron's stats. He's still far, far better in the clutch than Kobe.
