Spurs-Pistons 05 was incredible from start to finish.

Robert Horry had exactly one game scoring over 20 points for the Spurs. Game 5 vs the Pistons. Incredible performance.

Nailing a three with Sheed over him. Teabagging Rip Hamilton. Down 2 with 9 seconds in overtime and nailing a three over Prince.

I have fleeting memories of the Bulls-Jazz '98 finals, but I definitely remember "the shot", and for that alone, it would probably be my number 2.

I'm kind of like Dwight Howard in that I'm 7' tall and once my team loses I have a hard time watching the rest of the playoffs*.

Robert Horry's Game 5 vs. the Pistons that year has to easily be in the top 5 most clutch performances in Finals history. What he did that night was incredible.

Rockets-Knicks was a pretty good series back when they played.

'05 Spurs-Pistons right below that, mainly because that finals didn't really get interesting until Game 5...each of the first 4 games were routs. The last 3 games were good stuff.

My favorite finals was '83...I was a huge 76ers fan as a kid because of Dr. J ('77 Finals Game 6 was the first one I remember watching...was sad when Portland won) and I was glad to see him finally get a ring. I liked Darryl Dawkins' power-dunking, too.

I'm old enough to remember that Game 6 of the 1980 NBA Finals (Magic's rookie year) wasn't shown live to most of the country. Where I grew up, it was televised at 10:30 on CBS after the local news. It was a couple of years later that all of the finals games were shown live.

I took no offense at all...it was fascinating to watch the NBA mushroom from a pro sports afterthought to being on a par with the NFL and MLB in less than 10 years time.

Back on topic...the '06 Finals did have one of the more seismic shifts in momentum that I've ever seen. The Mavs were just a few minutes away from being up 3-0 and having a hammerlock on the series, but it got away from them big-time.

It's not the finals, but the 98 eastern conference finals is the best series I've seen.

I still wonder about how different the mavs may have been if they hadn't blown/been cheated out of the 2006 finals. Maybe Josh Howard and Devin Harris' careers are different. We never get Jet in here, possibly go back to back in 2007.
